I have been looking for a local roaster since starting on my coffee journey and today I visited East Coast Roast in nearby Island Park. Richard is amazing. He gave me a tour of the facility and an education as well. Such a friendly guy!. I've been searching for good coffee beans in long island for a while now. At first i went to starbucks reserve roastery where the beens were literally 42$ for a half pound!!!!! At east coast roast , richard (the owner) greated me very pleasantly and even had the time and patience to explain the different coffee beans and how they are roasted etc. .Not only that , the beans only costed me 14$ for half a pound, and they were infinitely better than the starbucks reserve beans. I really wish that this place was more well known , so more people can get to taste some true, high quality coffee.

I've had my eye on East Coast Roast for a while, and I finally had the pleasure of trying their Costa Rica-Tarrazu for the first time. I won't buy my coffee from anywhere else, and neither should you! In order to get the best coffee, it's got to be roasted correctly and fresh. I've tried coffee from many different local roasters, from all over NYC and Long Island, and the coffee from East Coast Roast is BY FAR the best. I prefer the Frank Sumatra with the Papua Don't Preach as a close second. Do yourself a favor and get a sampler pack (or two) and try a bunch of them to find your favorite. I know you will become a fan.
