Coming from Melbourne we have unfortunately never been to Eau De Vie - so obviously now in Sydney we needed to check it out. Hidden away at the back of a small boutique hotel in Darlinghurst, the bar has a great vibe to it. With a stylish clientele and super friendly staff you feel right at home seated in one of their cozy leather couches. The dimmed lights at to the feeling of comfort in this small bar. Amazing bar that is tucked away in Darlinghurst! The service here was amazing and the ambience was beautiful. The dim lighting and jazz music made it an amazing throwback to the 1920s, The seriously comfortable seating provides a lovely spot for a some beautiful drinks. And I do mean beautiful drinks!
We had Hell for Leather, which was hands down our favourite cocktail we ordered, smooth yet hit you in the face, amazing! I went with a group of 6 to this lovely bar during Mardi Gras 2017. It ended up starting out the best night we had that entire weekend! Make a reservation as they get quite busy. You will be seated with an extensive cocktail menu along comfortable leather lounges. My top reasons to go:1. the atmosphere.2. the non-conventional cocktails - especially the espresso martini ones! Cracking that cream which has been hardened with nitrogen is so satisfying.3. the staff - very knowledgeable and welcoming.4. to treat yourself after dinner - much better than a second rate dessert.5. the price - reasonable considering the level of effort and ingredients used.Note: 1 credit card per table.
I'm not easily impressed, but when I was taken here on a date I was pleasantly surprised indeed! Absolutely adore this gorgeous Sydney bar. Hidden at the back of The Kirketon hotel is this moody, intimate affair.
It's limited seating so you might have to wait, but the atmosphere and drinks are completely worth it and sure to impress!
The cocktail list is outstanding, some come with their very own theatrics which may include lighting money on fire and being served in a cloche of dry ice.
On this night we opt for the marshmallow fizz, a pretty pink sweet drink served with a torched marshmallow of course. Also a nice passionfruit cocktail served in a tiki cup.

Not cheap, but amazing atmosphere + cocktails makes this place get a lot of thumbs up. 4 of us eventually found Eau de Vie. No obvious external signage for the bar, but enter through the hotel, along a short corridor to the bar. Staff all dress in 20's outfits, and finish the cocktails at your table (well some of them if relevant). Our 4 cocktails ranged from $19-$24 each - But we are still telling everyone about them days later.

Stopped in for a few cocktails for a birthday and had a great time soaking up the atmosphere with some fun, imaginative cocktails. Have been back a few times since. Close to a few really good restaurants so well worth putting 30mins aside before dinner to enjoy a pre-dinner drink at Eau de Vie.
Great atmosphere and amazing cocktails. Staff is very friendly and prices are quite adjusted to the cocktail quality. Great for drinks in a quiet venue
