Great little place. The first thing first, you 'll need to know how to access it. You can interview the front or the back of the restaurant but parking is in the rear. There is a side street a little ways towards the hospital that you can gain access to the parking lot from.Now let 's get back to the review. I ordered several things off their menu including takoyaki, miso ramen and their TNT role.Their takoyaki was nice and firm on the outside and delicious on the inside. Sadly my first impression of Edo felt like a slap in the face. I reserved well in advance to attend a private event and when I arrived with my guest, the service from the Manager, who took my reservation, was horrible and unprofessional. Upon my arrival, I was told my reservation was canceled by the manager without a request from me and given to someone else without my knowledge. I was livid and felt like I was between a rock and a hard place. I wanted to support my friends event and did not want to cause a scene. This restaurant is a hidden gem. I live in Rochester Hills and I visit this place more than once a month. The food is authentic and delicious, and stands out compared to other similar restaurants. There is a perfect blend of home cooking and fine dining in their recipes, and the presentation adds to the overall experience. My favorite sushi options are the extreme California roll and the caterpillar roll. If sushi isn't your thing, the steamed dumplings are a must-try with their savory broth. My experience at Edo was top notch! The ambience is with an Asian vibe meshed with different art themes throughout the restaurant. Our waiter, Tristan was warm and personable! Even the owner came to our table and greeted us. The spring rolls were perfectly crisp om the outside, with a nice warn textured mix on the inside. The Shrimp Scampi Ramen was delicious! All star ratings are for the bathroom, not the establishment.The bathrooms are nicely tucked down a hallway, providing a security blanket... which is removed when you realize they 're single person bathrooms. Only 2 poopers at a time!!The signs are also a bit confusing. There are Men and women signs next to the doors. But the door itself has a whatever just wash your hands sign... so I just peed in the Women 's room.The bathroom itself was fine, but I 'm not a fan of a tankless toilet... how do you get comfortable with a handle in your back?Manual sink/soap and paper towel. Edo is a hidden gem in Royal Oak. I have been a loyal customer for over 3 years and am impressed with their delicious award-winning menu that caters to all dietary needs. A tasty fusion place!We really liked this fusion restaurant! There were so many delicious sounding options on the menu that we took a while to decide! We chose the tempura mushroom for our appetizer and really enjoyed it. Hen of the woods mushroom with arugula made a great combo. I chose a veggie yakiudon, and loved how the buttery and garlic soaked noodles were very umami and added a flavorful spin to this dish. First visit and enjoyed the meal greatly. The house soup was wonderfully tasty a good blend of flavors.The seafood fried rice was great. The scallops and shrimp where cooked perfectly.Tried the California roll and the Eel roll and found them to be wonderful as well.Highly recommend to anyone thinking of going.I know i will be returning on the future.
