Honestly if you buy the ingredients frozen , chips and fish, why are they so yuk Possibly the oil isnt hot enough as that's what makes good crunchy batter and chips. Could be they are made in large quantities at the beginning of the shift...then left in the cabinets to steam . Then the crunchy fish and chips will go sad and soggy. Anyone going in to get fresh fish and chips will get a poor quality product. Loads of chips , portion sizes are big . However when quality is poor that's just more to throw away. We have tried Edward's a while ago but a review tempted me to try again. Maybe reviewer was a friend of the shop. The quality is still dreadful. Personally I wont waste my money again ever...
Last minute decision brought us to the chippy. So glad we did. Friendly, professional staff. Fish cooked to perfection and proper mushy peas. Been to places where they use Tinned so was nice to have them done properly. Very clean and efficient service. Our fish...were cooked fresh for us so we had to wait a few minutes but it was worth the wait. Highly recommend.
Not that enjoyable. Whilst the place looked nice from the outside, the public areas well presented and clean and the “social distancing” sorted, the chips were really disappointing. Lots of small bits and not many full sized chips and dry. Wouldn’t go back.

Friendly and helpful staff, got one large portion of haddock and chips, really liked the fact that the chips were fresh and hot. Battered fish was hot and fresh, too. Would recommend and visit again.
Worst fish butty Ive ever had. Fish so over cooked that my jaw ached when Id finished. No sauce of any description available. Way better chippies available locally. Give this one a miss.

I love fish and chips. these are the best I tasted in the, batley, tausbury, huddersfield area. I'll go back in any case.
