I visited here with my family as it was the closest restaurant to us seemed like a great location overlooking the water... We all made an effort to get dressed up as we do like to eat out. The waiter was pretty much expressionless and never smiled once throughout the whole of the service. We were polite, spoke Spanish as well as we could, saying Thank you for everything he did for us i.e Serving our drinks, bread etc. The service food were very poor! I had the cod in house sauce, served with cold mixed vegetables out of a tin 6 chips, my wife had steak which tasted like what I imagine a leather shoe would taste like if it was cooked... strangely though the pepper sauce was actually quite nic...
We arrived there on the 2nd night of our weeks holiday, got there at 19.20 only to be told they weren’t serving food until 20.00. We decided to have a drink, survey the menu order at 20.00. That was plan A, however, at 20.10 having seen others served food struggling to get anyones attention the omens weren’t great so we asked for the bill. Another 10 minutes passed we still hadn’t received the bill, so we decided to get up settle at the bar. The manager/owner apologised as we left, stating staffing issues, but the staff that were there were obviously favouritising other patrons at the expense of us. A shame as the location was good, but the loss to their business was 6 days of our patronage.
Las cosas siempre en su justa medida. El Ancla es un restaurante playero, estacional, que ha decidido ponerse las pilas, al menos culinariamente esta temporada. Muy buena croqueta y muy rico el arroz de mariscos. Estupenda la manzana asada con vainilla. Servicio atento que quiere agradar y que el rato, junto al Mediterrráneo, sea placentero. Lástima de pan y muy mejorable la cara de vinos. Pero hay que agradecer la sensatez de los precios y el querer ser honestos. Una visita agradable, recomendable y que bien vale la pena llegarse hasta este singular rincón de la siempre sorprendente Manga del mar menor. Qué continúe por mucho tiempo la inercia.
My husband and I stopped in here, just for a drink, after a long beach walk, we thought we may return another day for a meal as it's a lovely situation. I had a tinto de verano, the glass was mostly full of ice, which was a blessing as the drink was diabolical, it was just flat, weak pink water! the casera ready made tinto de verano is a million times better, no nuts or olives were offered as is usual at most bars. The waitress that served us was very pleasant but the lady owner (I presume) had to be called several times, to take the payment and was very uninterasted. We won't be returning.

Juan, el dueño, un señor super atento y amable. Lorena, encantadora, demostración de que cliente y empleado pueden congeniar en poco tiempo. Felipe, hijo del dueño, solo nos atendió un día, pero se nota que ha aprendido de un gran hostelero Nos llevamos grandes recuerdos de la manga este año, en los cuales, el ancla y su personal, están incluidos. Muy recomendable
Increíble. Comimos aquí un día feo de mar. No pudimos estar mejor. La mejor mesa, Lorena sensacional, todo amabilidad y atención. Pedimos lo k nos recomendó, y la verdad, es k salimos muy muy muy satisfechos. Sensacional fritura de pescado (mucha calidad) y el arroz con caldero nos chupamos los dedos. Gracias Juan. Gracias Lorena. Volveremos.
Buen servicio por parte del personal incluso sin mono. Y el día del partido de la Eurocopa 2024 estuvieron impecables en la disposición de la mesa. Comida bien preparada. Un restaurante recomendado para desayunar. El almuerzo es cena (cenar) con vistas al Mediterráneo.
Paella de marisco exquisita, con vistas al mar y brisa agradable. La atención de Jeni no pudo ser mejor, muy amable y pendiente de todo. Muy recomendable!
