The food is consistently great, and I usually opt for takeout. They are typically really fast with my orders. It's been a while since I dined in, but from what I remember, the service is pretty good. The interior is quite dark, which isn't my favorite feature. Despite that, this will always be my top choice for a Mexican restaurant and my preferred location! I usually order the enchiladas with sour cream sauce and double rice. I also really enjoy the queso, and while the salsa varies, it's usually fantastic.
I grew up eating at this restaurant down south. We were in Oklahoma for an event and I realized there was an El Chico close by. I am in LOVE with their relish and brought 2 quarts home. Our service was excellent and food was good. Sadly, their salsa wasn't the same. I have always compared every Mexican restaurant's salsa to El Chico and sadly it wasn't the same. It's not that it wasn't good. It was but it was thicker, spicier and lacked that vinegar flavor I'd always loved.
This restaurant may not be brand new, but in my opinion, when it comes to Mexican cuisine, the focus is more on the food than the decor. And in terms of the food, this place definitely delivers. The dishes are fantastic, and the portion sizes are generous enough to satisfy your hunger. The service was decent, too. We always stop by whenever we’re in Tulsa, and the quality has remained consistently great. We’ll continue to visit because we consider it a real treat.
El Chicos has been my favorite restaurant for years, but I was really let down tonight. There were eight of us at our table, and six of us ordered the chicken enchilada dinner. Unfortunately, we were all disappointed. I don’t know what has changed with your chicken, but it just wasn’t good. I hope you return to the way you used to make them. Six unhappy diners is significant.

My wife and I shared the steak fajitas, and I have to say, I really appreciate how El Chico prepares them; they definitely met my expectations. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals as well. The service was excellent too. It’s a bit of a drive from our home, but it’s worth the trip.
Autumn served us at this restaurant and she made our dining experience so wonderful. I love El Chico and especially this restaurant. Best Tex Amex around 5 stars from me! Autumn has been w this restaurant 26 years. Here’s 5 stars for her too!
Great spot for the weekend! You can do all your shopping and exploring, then stop by this El Chico. They have wonderful servers, delicious food, and we really enjoy the atmosphere.
Nice family dinner with great service attention. Wednesday enchilada special is great! Great hot salsa complementary tortillas relish is fabulous . Ask for Carlos or Caitlyn
