In short this place exceeded expectations in many ways. While certainly being more Tex-Mex than authentic Mexican the food was quite good. I was hesitant to order a side of Mac and Cheese with my tacos but was encouraged to do so by our waitress and it was phenomenal. My blacked shrimp taco was quite heavy on the raw onion but other than that the food was great and very large portions. I visited this hidden gem after spending a day at the beach, and I was impressed! The food was fantastic, and the portion sizes were just right. The staff was incredibly friendly, making the experience even better. We sampled a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. If you're in the area and in need of quick, friendly service, be sure to stop by. And if you're craving a good margarita, this is definitely the spot to choose!
Wonderful place! Delicious food that came out very efficiently and kind, super attentive service. No complaints at all and would love to dine here again. Tried the beet salad, carne asade fajitas and guacamole all fresh and tasty. Thank you for a great experience! Staff was very chill about masks and didn't ask about vaccination status, which is very appreciated here in the communist city of Los Angeles.
What I enjoyed most about el gringo was the friendly staff. They are super attentive, nice and fast. The food was delicious and the portions are big enough to share with everyone. We tried a little of everything and it was all delicious. The salad in my opinion was the best. Check this place out before or after a visit to the beach.

The happy hour menu is a hidden gem. If you are in a pinch and looking for a really good margarita or taco this is yourspot. I would avoid the quesadilla in the future as it's not a lot of food relative to other dishes. One enhancement to the menu would be bringing churros on board as a dessert option....or flan
The restaurant was quite busy, so our dedicated server recommended we order takeout. That turned out to be a great decision. I got the carne asada burrito, which was delicious, and it also came with chips and salsa.
Stop by one time when I was in the area. Now I make it the place for me to go to. They have so many options to choose from. The fact that they don't use lard makes my family happy.
The food was excellent, and I appreciated that it wasn't overly crowded—just the right amount of buzz. Overall, it created a nice and relaxing atmosphere!
