This place absolutely deserves 5 stars if we talk about their food. Delicious. However, our lunch was completely ruined by service. It was just so uncomfortable that I couldn’t wait to leave. I’m still wondering if perhaps we did or said something to offend our server but I really can’t think of anything. She purposely ignored us while just chatting by the bar even though she saw we need her. Never checked on us. We needed more water but that didn’t happen. She didn’t offer us boxes. We had to go get her to order entrees after 25 minutes waiting with just an appetizer on the table. My husband had to get out and stand by our table with a credit card just to get her attention. I visited this restaurant for lunch on a weekday, and it was mainly frequented by groups of tech workers from the area. The restaurant had a cozy layout with small dining areas in the front and back, as well as a patio outside. The place was almost full, and the service was prompt as we were seated quickly and our orders were taken promptly. While the noise level from other diners was tolerable, the music was played too loudly. Loved the food here today. Margs we’re strong and delicious. Chips and salsa on point. Loved the shrimp tacos and the refried beans. The serving sizes are generous. I wish the service had been a bit more attentive and the churros were too hard but other than that I loved the experience and I will be back!
Yum good priced Mexican restaurant. Happy hour $1 off menu items. Has a few outside seats, then has the front and bar area (in back). Carnitas tacos are pretty stuffed with good flavor little kick. Sangria refreshing. Each item ordered $10. Good atmosphere with fun music.

This place is AMAZING! I live near it and I come all the time-I’m NEVER disappointed. Fantastic staff, phenomenal drinks, and delicious food. The atmosphere is stunning and they have a cute outdoor area if you want to bring your pups!
I think this place deserves a 4.5 star rating, so I'm giving it 5 to bump it up. The burrito I had was really good, and the red sauce was SO flavorful and delicious. The Marg was fine too, definitely satisfying!
Get there early! El Grito is quickly becoming a neighborhood institution. Come for the tortilla chips, stay for the absolutely delicious carnitas or fajitas plates.

The service was excellent and the portions are very generous. I ordered the vegan enchiladas. YUM!
