Based on my limited experience, I can confidently say that this restaurant serves authentic Mexican cuisine. The quality of the produce and ingredients is excellent. The homemade chips are exceptional. We ordered takeout, and the food was ready in about 15 minutes—super fast and convenient. The interior of the restaurant is bright and lively, with a pleasant buzz of conversation from diners enjoying their meals as I walked in to pick up my order. Overall, the place appeared clean and well-maintained. The staff were professional and straightforward. Visited Montrose and stopped by El Jimador The service was top notch, the staff very attentive to our needs, we had a group of 6. Having eaten Mexican style food on 4 different continents, the food was good but not the best. You won't be disappointed and its a good value. The food was served quickly. When I inquired about the type of chili used in the relleno, I was informed it wasn’t poblano, but it definitely was. Everything was topped with cheese, which, in my opinion, suggests that the flavors of the food might be lacking. I’ll give it another try to see if my impression changes.
The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, though it feels a bit outdated. Unfortunately, my beef enchilada had undercooked pink meat. However, the salsa was impressive, scoring a 9 out of 10, and the cabbage served as a great appetizer.
