We actually wanted to go to another restaurant but that place was sooo noisy so we left and went to El Kilo. It was loud too but that was just because the hostel next door was having a pool party. Nevertheless we had a good night at El kilo. Besides them being very busy, Food and drinks were served quickly. I had two ceviche for a start since I was not to hungry. There were ok but I had eaten better before. My girlfriend had grilled octopus which was delicious. She ordered a main course, which was a mix of grilled fish, pulpo and potato.. Seafood al a El kilo.. that was very nice too. But I was happy I did not order any main course since my girlfriend could not finish hers and shared it with...
After a failed start at a (different) much-hyped ceviche restaurant, we fell in love with El Kilo for the lip-smacking delightful cocktails and tantalisingly succulent ceviche. Upmarket (for Colombia), the prices were still reasonable for the dishes and its not going to break the bank. Plus it felt like no matter what you ordered, it was going to be delicious. You could choose your fish/seafood type then the sauce and garnish. The dark decor created a comfortable cosy atmosphere which was buzzing with good vibes and people enjoying their meals.
My GF and I had one of the best meals of our lives here. I had never tasted octopus so delicious! Everything was amazing: the service, the cocktails and the food.The ceviches were particularly amazingWe eat a lot of food, and had a lot of drinks, and the bill was not expensive at all for the quality of the food and experience. Great place!
We came for the oysters but they didn't have any. They actually haven't had any in a couple of days. A restaurant specializing in oysters as an oyster bar that is not cool. Nonetheless the food was very good, the cocktails were solid and the service a bit tardy at times is good. I would give this place another shot just for the oysters.
