As far as I could tell El Nueva Barrel De Ora no longer exists. The original is situated on the Alvear roundabout where I suspect it has always been. Following the map coordinates for El Nueva takes you to a totally different restaurant. The photo...on El Nueva is actually of the original restaurant which is designated closed on TripAdvisor. Confused? I certainly was. Barril De Ora is a typical busy roadside Spanish restaurant. Seemingly very popular with locals as are many others. The Iberico meat half ration for 5 euros was excellent. Gran atención y comida. Llegamos a un grupo de 16 ciclistas, sedientos y hambrientos después de una larga etapa. La camarera, Toñi, nos aconsejó en todo momento, restringiendo nuestros impulsos para ordenar todos los platos del menú, aconsejando que nos pidiéramos poco a poco, ya que las raciones son grandes. Lo cual es agradecer. También nos aconsejó sobre los vinos de Montilla. Comimos papas bravas, allioli, saladilla, flamenquines xxl y rellenos de rabino toro, lagartos y fritos chipironrs, además del aperitivo que nos puso con la primera bebida, chorizo al vino. Con la bebida (abundante), el café y los tragos, dejamos a 21 euros cada uno. Gracias. Toñi. Volveremos a Montilla y a tu bar.
we had such a pleasant time in both nights that we visited, the selection of drinks is excellent and snacks delicious, and both very favorable. the personal was also very friendly, and even managed to chat a little in English. highly recommended.
called route from córdoba to malaga in a public holiday. one of few places open. fantastic food and drink and house our non fantastic Spanish! all tasty and great. ps sherry shop next door worth a visit!
