I would have liked to give it 3.5 points, but since I had to make a decision between 3 or 4, I erred on the generous side. Algeciras is a dump and El Palmito looks very unspectacular from the outside. Inside it is a normal tapas bar. The have a huge choice of tapas on the bar and we let them choose most things for us. Service was swift and very friendly. We had half raciones of the fish eggs, albondigas, salmonetas, and acedias. All very enjoyable the fish eggs were a nice surprise and the fried fish were very good, too. The plates were between 5 and 8 euros not terribly cheap, but ok. If you happen to be in Algeciras with a car, I can recommend El Palmito.
We were very surprised (positively) of quality of seafood and white wine. We fully relied on waiter's suggestion to try certain seafood selection and don't regret it. Service was fantastic in the restaurant and in the tapas bar down stairs too. All fresh and nicely presented. Three Latvian girls thank you for nice food and atmosphere. Gracias
Good environment, nice staff specially Juan who jokes all the time! hehe. Tortilla de camarones , patatas rellenas , carne con tomate and spanish ham are great!. Breakfast are also available , I recommend toast with tomate , olive oil and spanish ham! delicious! Highly recommended!.
An above average tapas bar food is quite good extensive menu at reasonable prices watch you order the tapas or you might end up with large plates of tapas overall a good average tapas bar of the Beaton track unless you are going to the hospital it is on the corner .

Been here on many visits to Algeciras, its just a bar restaurant no frills with amazing food and quite amiable (most of the time ; staff. I love the albondigas with pepper and the calamari. Will always come back.
the hazeitunas were the kingenas of the bear trousers Salvagesbbsns. the duen is a pork k no z washes the cuffs to the kagar. the hemp is dull in my kreo llo soup. In principle, bar-zito fence.
we used to use this restaurant quite a lot then the standard went downhill when we complained about the toughness of the steak we were offered alternate knives
