When our additional two guests arrived, we moved to a larger table to accommodate everyone. I asked to speak with the manager, but instead of coming over to us, we were directed to the front of the restaurant. I explained our experience to him, and shortly after, our server finally came over to take our drink orders—over 20 minutes into our visit with no interaction before that. The manager then returned and asked me to come to the front again. He informed me that the host and busboy denied that we had been waiting for 15 minutes and essentially accused me of lying when I spoke to him earlier. I visited the restaurant hoping for authentic Mexican cuisine and the enticing deal of .99 margaritas. After confirming with the host that it was fine to eat at the bar, I sat down with plans to order food once my friend arrived. We ordered an appetizer and a round of drinks, but after 20 minutes, the bartender approached us and asked if we were really saving the seats because he couldn't keep turning other guests away. The only new arrival was a man who asked my wife if he could take her seat after she told him our friend would be joining us soon. It seemed he was prioritized over us. This is a solid everyday Mexican restaurant. The chips are outstanding, and the salsa is delicious and freshly prepared. The food is typical of average Mexican cuisine.
We frequently visit El Ranchero for their delicious food, quick service, friendly staff, and affordable margaritas on Sundays! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Great food. Love the beef tacos, rice, and refried beans. Besides our table of 7, there were 2 large parties and only 2 servers service was excellent.
