The food wasn't good. No taste. We told the manager and she went back to try and come back and said the food is okay, it tastes good. She didn't realize what my brother said or even tried to solve something. We paid $60 for food we didn't eat. My sister in the law ordered a chicken family and it had 4 pieces chicken with loads of unseasoned veggies. We ordered 2 sauces to try to make the food taste better (it did not work), but was charged. The sauce and the chips were more appetite than the meal. Sad to give it such a low rating.
One of the most popular Mexican restaurants in Newport, this location is our favorite because it offers plenty of space and convenient parking in the back. The food is consistently excellent, and the service is always friendly. Today, I had the stuffed pepper, which was both delicious and fresh. The chicken soup is a must-try, featuring large pieces of chicken breast along with fresh tomatoes and avocado—absolutely to die for! There are three different seating areas, all comfortable and inviting.
Charming atmosphere, friendly service. Chips, salsa, guacamole are among the BEST ever. Chips are thin, hot, and very fresh. I had the Sizzling Fajitas, which were picture perfect with tender beef, tomatoes, peppers and onions. My friend had a Chili Relleno and was very satisfied. I had the pleasure of eating at two different Mexican restaurants in three days. Avila's El Ranchito in Corona Del Mar was the first. I would give them 10 stars as their food was superior in every category.

Avila's is a must-go visit when you're in the area! The staff is very friendly and the service was prompt. There is table seating outside and inside the restaurant with a bar down in the lower section. The restaurant is known for their Mama's Soup (which is delicious! and highly recommend to first-time visitors. It's a relaxed atmosphere with all the charm of a family-owned establishment and the pride of the community.
The atmosphere is fantastic right from the moment you enter. The servers are courteous and efficient. The food is outstanding, from the tortillas to the warm chips. The fresh guacamole is a highlight, along with the excellent drinks. Plus, the convenient parking in the back is a nice bonus. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
The best Mexican food in Corona Del Mar bar none. Always great food, The service is fantastic and there's an outdoor patio for me to bring my dog. Plenty of parking in the back and I highly recommend this incredible place to have dinner
The chips were hard as a rock, but I appreciated the hands-free door openers in the bathroom. The service was a bit forgetful, as they kept leaving out the ice and utensils. Also, the menu was not very clean.
