The last time I followed a comment about good Mexican food in the springs, I was highly disappointed. So I was a little nervous this time... but, I'm happy to say, that was not the case this time! They caught my attention with the salsa bar... chips and salsa being one of my favorite parts about eating at a Mexican restaurant. I tried the chilli rellenos, due to the review that was left about them and the fact that they are up there as one of my favorite go-to dishes. While they aren't what I expected for a relleno in Colorado... they were far better than most! And I was super impressed with the fact that their corn tortillas are handmade and thick! I have tried several average Mexican dishes in Colorado Springs, but El Rey 2 stands out with their delicious Chili Rellenos and tamales. The chilies are large and flavorful, smothered in green chili sauce. The tamales bring back memories of home. The menu offers a wide variety of options and the salsa bar is excellent. I recommend trying something new outside of your usual choices. I always leave El Rey 2 feeling satisfied and happy.
My 50-year-old hispanic employee went here after I had recommended it, said it was the best Mexican food he ever had outside Mexico. This place is friendly authentic tasty and fair price I just wish I lived in Colorado Springs so I could visit this place weekly. You won't find better Mexican food in town.
I absolutely love this restaurant. I have been to many restaurants, but this one is my go-to. The staff is very friendly and the food they prepare is incredibly delicious. I would much rather have a meal at this restaurant. I highly recommend this place.
If you are in search of authentic Mexican cuisine, this restaurant is a great choice. The food is prepared quickly and one unique aspect of this place is its salsa bar that offers 5-6 different types of salsa. Overall, the experience is delicious!
Some of the best Mexican food that I have found in the area! The birria tacos were absolutely to die for. Service was fast and friendly. Will be coming here as much as possible. New favorite for sure!
