My kind of place. My wife finds us interesting eateries. It was late and we needed lunch. This was highly rated, within 2 blocks of our hotel, and we didn't even need to cross a street. It was almost empty when we arrived, but there was a steady flow of take out customers. Then eat-ins. I didn't think the nachos would be sufficient, but boy was I wrong. Food is very tasty. I had the beef chimichanga and I thought it was pretty good. Also the pricing is very reasonable. The platter for chimichanga was $11. This place is in the heart of downtown DC so it's hard to get a better deal than that. I was there at the time that they were going to close and most of the clientele that time are people at the bar. This place has the best horchata and the best enchiladas I have ever had. Every bite of this meal has bursts of flavor! The refried beans were ????, and the salad on the side with the sour cream and guacamole wasn?t just that, it had a bit of salad dressing on it too! Ever been part of the clean plate club? This place will make you a part of it so fast you will want to come back for more ????
During our vacation, we visited this restaurant twice in one week. The first experience blew us away with the food, so we had to return. However, it seemed like a different chef was in the kitchen on our second visit just two days later, as the quality and flavor of the food were not the same. I hadn't had pupusas in years and was craving them during my visit to DC. This hidden gem did not disappoint. I ordered two pupusas, a tamal de elote combination, and yuca frita. The food came out quickly and was incredibly delicious! The staff was very friendly, and the music created a great atmosphere. I highly recommend stopping by!
Delicious! It can be challenging to find authentic pupusas that aren't overly greasy, but this place definitely delivers! I ordered two chicken and two pork pupusas, and they were massive—I definitely didn’t need four! I also got a side of fried plantains. It's a small, cozy spot, but it's absolutely worth a visit!
This cozy little gem serves incredibly delicious food. While there aren't many seats available, the flavors make it worth the visit—especially the shredded chicken nachos, which are piled high and absolutely fantastic. The staff was also friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great experience.
