We used to be guests more often, since we moved from Wevelinghoven to Hemmerden. The ambience is more of a fine restaurant without lines and soul than that you feel like you are in Mexico. Service friendly, tried hard but unstructured. It's a shame that the first thing you're greeted with is a sign saying no card payment and then the waitress tells you that the gas grill is broken and there are no steaks etc. The entrance door to the toilets (escape door) from the hall was locked, the place where the fire extinguisher was signposted was not accessible because a guest was sitting there. I've been there a few times, the food was really good that evening, I had a fajita with chicken and it tasted really good. We got more tortillas upon request, and I know that everything will be more expensive, but sorry, I thought €2.10 for 3 “flaps” was a bit excessive. But the service was excellent, nothing was forgotten and you didn't have to wait long, even if it was quite busy. I can only warmly recommend a visit to El Barrio, but be sure to reserve a table ; And next time we'll hopefully have the chili con carne as a starter
