During the Eat Out to Help Out promotion, I had a great lunch experience at this restaurant with fabulous prices. The service at the bar was friendly and efficient. The menu is simple, offering three types of burgers (beef, chicken, or vegan bean patty) with fries, as well as a quinoa salad option. You can also simply order fries if you prefer. We tried the vegan burger and the chicken burger, along with two fizzy drinks for £14 as part of the promotion. Both burgers were excellent, with the chicken burger being particularly large and juicy. The fries were hot and delicious. I hadn't visited this restaurant in 40 years, so I shouldn't have been surprised to see that the old pub was no longer there. There has been a large amount of redevelopment in the area. The current establishment is a plain, open-plan bar. The saving grace is the good selection of real ale, but it doesn't have the traditional feel of a classic pub.
