I really wanted to like this place but it was just awful in so many ways. The food was pretty good, we both had a carbonara but unfortunately my partner found 2 hairs in their food, after getting halfway through my meal I noticed that both my plate and glass were filthy. My glass was dusty and also had a small hair in it and my plate had clearly not been cleaned properly. My napkin also had a random stain on it and had to be replaced. Although the food wasn't bad it also wasn't what was advertised, it was very clearly not fresh pasta and it wasn't the type that was supposed to come with the dish, instead of fresh ribbon pasta we just got standard premade spaghetti. We visited along with 27 other people for a presentation evening and unfortunately our visit overall was very disappointing. Limited beers, lagers and wine,flat coke and lemonade poured from plastic bottles and no ice. After a long wait, my food, a 3 course meal I was served a luke warm soup, microwaved pasta and a disappointing creme brulle, and salad dressing two years out of date. It was our first visit and first impressions count, I was really looking forward to our meal as work colleagues had recommended and I'd read all the positive reviews.Maybe the 29 in our group were too large for them to cope with but the meals and numbers were pre booked so planning should not have been a problem...
Visited yesterday for late lunch and had a brilliant meal and the price was excellent value for money! We enjoyed a lovely chicken peppercorn dish with gorgeous chips and salad, plus a carbonara which was very authentic. Two lovely lime and coconut tarts, 2 large wines and an Aperol Spritz for £40. Place was immaculate clean, lovely toilets, friendly staff and the best part is actually how Italian the surroundings are, (makes a change from overly modern and bare! with Italian flags, pictures, chanti candles it’s a small little gem in Middlesbrough’s centre and is actually somewhere where you can hear yourself think and enjoy your company in a relaxing environment, will be back soon!
Ordered a chateaubriand steak in advance for my fiancees birthday, came with homemade chips, homemade pepper sauce, onion rings, fresh vegetables , mushrooms and tomato. All cooked to absolute perfectionThe nicest steak we've ever had!!!! This place is a wonderful authentic hidden gem, you wouldn’t know it was there. I went out here for a lovely meal with my partner. The food was beautiful and the service was wonderful. You were instantly made to feel welcomed. I left happy and with a full stomach! I will definitely be coming back and I’m thrilled to find out they also have a delivery service overall a truly wonderful experience.
This was our third visit for afternoon tea-this time with grandaughters and friend from Brazil and and everyone loved it especially the antipasti and the cream cakes -as usual the friendly service was first class and would recommend to anyone looking for an afternoon treat with a glass of prosecco and the best tiramasu ever. Visited our favourite restsurant again . Food was amazing and great value. Staff are lovely and really accomodating especially to our 3 year old son. Excellent service and stunning fresh food. Will always come back here .
A cosy family run restaurant with a great menu and a lovely change from the usual chain restaurants. Had main course of duck which was delicious. Well worth a visit
