We were in Casa Carolina for a week and were never tired of eating. About our stay we probably tried the whole menu and it was always great. The food was always fresh and on site (including fresh bread). The keviche and seafood dishes were excellent and my 5 years old actually ate their food every time (and they make happy modifications for picky eater! They are very flexible so that you can order and serve anywhere on the property, including poolside. Even in quieter times there is always someone at the bar who can pick up your order. My friends and I stayed at Casa carolina for 3 days, for those 3 days, we had the breakfast included with our stay. Usually, you think breakfast included and you get those small meals, but at Eli’s restaurant it was different. It was so good, they offer organic fair trade coffee, choice of 2-3 different freshly squeeze juice, smoothie and the food, I tried it all. In those 3 days, I ate the eggs, the Cayeye which is a mashed plantain with tomato, onion and garlic, Empanadas filled with either meat, cheese, tuna, chicken) , Arepa, Pancakes and my favorite, the Patacon which is a giant plantain chips served with sour cream, tomato and onion. We came for dinner as we were staying in the hotel and were tired so we wanted a bite. We sat for 15 minutes (there were only 2 other tables) before anyone came to give us menus. We sat for another 15 minutes but no one came so we walked into the kitchen to ask the server if she could take our order. When we wanted a second beverage we gave up on waiting so I again walked into the kitchen to order. We asked for hot sauce, it never came so we walked into the kitchen again to ask for the hot sauce. The moment we got in we knew it was special. I was with a group of friends and we had the best breakfast of all our trip. There's a good menu starting from 30000 Colombian pesos and it is worth the price. Waitress are always nearby and with such a warming smile, it's hard to go eat somewhere else. You can feel the true Colombian hospitality here. When it gets crowded, service may be a little bit slower, but it's always met with kindness and humanity I rarely see elsewhere. I will be coming back in Santa Marta just for this place.
We had about 6 meals at Elis, and everyone was fantastic. Breakfast was from this world. The free continental breakfast was very good, but if you get eggs, arepas and other breakfast items, you have made a big decision. Every meal was great. Lunch and dinner were fabulous. We had over 80 guests who eat and hang for 4 days, and everyone was 100% enthusiastic. The staff goes beyond and beyond to make everything great, and we really appreciate it!
We only had cocktails because of the happy hour offer wesaw when you went by, but the hotel looked gorgeous and the menu was fabulous from our price class Staff were nice and helpful and enjoy a cocktail that was fresh and beautiful and strong, on a hammock at the pool was beautiful
Wonderfully presented breakfast buffet every morning along with individualized orders of eggs, crepes and more. The evening dinners were just as yummy with many choices on the menu. And fabulous service!
We had a very nice dinner in this restaurant. The keviche was delicious, fresh and good as it should be. The cocktails were a little too sweet.
The restaurant is located in the Casa Carolina Hotel. This is the best Hotel in Santa Marta. They are both great!
