I have recently moved back to Wodonga and love walking. On my travels I discovered this wonderful cafe. It also has a great outdoor courtyard. The coffee was good and it seems quite popular even in these covid times. As I have now become a regular I thought I would try a home made pie for lunch and it was delicious. Pastry and filling was perfect. I have also since ordered the take home meals and they are equally good. My first choice was the roast pork with vegetables and then the curried sausages for a change. Both were definitely repeats and I will work my way through the list and try the other many options. Order Take Home Meals before 12 noon Tuesday for pick up Thursday after 10am. Eve...
My experience at this restaurant was not great. We decided to get takeaway for lunch because we were new to the area and the exterior of the restaurant looked nice. Unfortunately, the interior was disappointing. The service was slow, the coffee was terrible, the meat pies were lukewarm, and the bread on the sandwiches was dried out. The menu was not very good either. The inside of the restaurant was messy and lacked any appealing decor. I think they need to update everything, including the menu and the staff. Overall, it was a lesson learned.
I went to have lunch at the restaurant as usual. I always looked forward to my lunches there. Unfortunately, I made a mistake and accidentally burped, for which I apologized. However, I was verbally abused by one of the staff in front of other customers. I was very upset as I suffer from panic attacks and find it difficult to be around people. Going to restaurants is my way of venturing out, and being humiliated in front of others was distressing. I have decided not to return to this restaurant.
I wanted to address the previous post regarding Cafe Elmwood. I was disappointed to find that they do not offer meat pies on their menu, so I am skeptical of the positive reviews mentioning them.
