On a small, out of the way street in Collioure, you will find this funky little bar away from the beach and the tourists on Boromir. Run by a guitar playing, singing Brazilian chef who serves up a selection of tapas to accompany the wine or beer. From salads and tortillas, to anchovies and grilled chorizo to an amazing grilled camembert or pan tamate we were pleased to try some tapas that differed from the typical offerings seaside. When things quieted in the kitchen, he gladly came and played guitar and sang for us. Definitely worth a try!
We stopped in here one evening for some beers. The main man pointed out that it was a restaurant but they'd accommodate us as they were quite quiet. The food looked nice so we decided to pay a return journey. On our 2nd visit the place looked just as inviting with probably half the tables free. Unfortunately the main man was working alone doing both the cooking and waiting so service was understandably slow. However the food was well worth waiting for.Would definitely go to Els Taps again!
Do yourself a favour and skip the flabby dorade for a day and enjoy mid afternoon tapas in this great little bar. It is totally unpretentious and cheap but does super ballota ham and a duck parmentier tapas which at 6€ is pretty well given away. Always a few specials, latest of which I found to be great was a salt cod salad with chickpeas, olives, spring onions and lemon. House wine is cheap and cheerful. Don't go if you're posh or aspiring to be.
Disregard the negative reviews, this is really a great little tapas bar with mostly home cooked dishes. Tasty food, good value, pleasant staff, quirky....what more can a body ask for in a town that has a huge number of similar places to eat. This is relaxed, informal.... Went there early in the week and came back for my last night, and I wasn't disappointed.

As near an hour wait for 3 tapas.Obviously they are trying to make a go of it but far too long a wait for 3 tapas.No warning that service would be slow .... just a number of repeated apologies after being presented with the 1st tapas ( rest came after another 10 minutes )No Rose .... why? ?? They are next to a cave !No cards taken.Hmmmm.
lovely tapas bar away from the tourist crowds down a side road. the food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. very good value and friendly locals. we had a lovely tortilla with chorizo, catalan sausage, tomato on bread, creamy mash - it was probably the best fry up I've ever had.
Sadly, the great service is terribly spoiled by the extremely poor quality food. Stop by for a drink, chat to the friendly staff but don't eat here. The loud 80s ballads don't help the atmosphere either.
Really friendly,tapas were super, decent wheelchair access and a disabled loo for sis in law means we will return really soon. 90+ euros for food wine and beer for all= good value ????????????????

There was a combo plate of tapas for two for 29€ that was delicious. Salads were excellent as well. Add in a couple of bottles of rose and you have yourself a great evening dinner.
