In need of sustenance, we stopped in a lovely square and we're very happy we chose this restaurant from all the others in it. We ate under the awning from the menu du jour. We both had a fillet of red mullet on artichoke, tomato and a broth for starters and this turned out to be the dish of the week. It was just delicious and as we had had gizzard salad a few times, a lovely change. Next we both had veal chop with frites (maybe a little on the chewy side), followed by a raspberry tarte with a peach drizzle and cream. Lovely little square with a good feel. Pleasant staff no rushing about so dont go there if you are in an hurry. Good selection of food well cooked without fussy bits and pieces if you have people who are very fussy! meat and fish were good so the desserts,nothing fancy but good. Good lunch stop if you are shopping or visiting the city.
A terrace dinner: Excellent foie gras and very tender duck magret. And to finish a cake with apples and nuts. A good evening in the heart of Périgueux.
