This used to be one of my absolute FAVORITE taco spots! I'm talking YEARS ago, like 2010 or so. Big fat delicious tacos with SO MUCH CHEESE. Guacamole was delicious. My mom would grab some on the way home from work and we were so excited for tacos. I had been CRAVIN this. I needed to get back! So I did. I went back. First, we sat down and were greeted by a server carrying a basket of chips and some salsa. She approached us with the chips and asked if we wanted any. Well of course! I am so sorry to be saying this but this was possibly the worst and most unappetizing Mexican food we have eaten in the entire country and for SoCal...i.dont even want to say anything.Flavor less burritos. Meat not too fresh and tough, watery sauce and so bad that despite adding Trader Joes sauce and Jalepenos it was inedible. It really hurt to have spent 32$ for 2 burritos. How do they even have 4 1/2 stars ? I apologize but it was too disappointing to not mention anything.
I haven't been to Esther's in a while, but I always order à la carte. Their hard shell tacos are really delicious, and the servers are consistently friendly. However, my last visit was quite unpleasant. It seemed like the bartender and the only other customer in the bar area were dating, which felt totally inappropriate for the setting.
This restaurant was quite crowded on a Friday night. I felt that the food had a lot of potential to be great, but everything was oversalted. Esther's, you won me back after the pandemic. I had given up for a while but you came around when the community was in need. Service is really good lately, food is excellent. We had a moment around 2019 when I thought we were going to break up but I'm happy to see we worked things out.
I used to frequently visit this restaurant with my friends when I lived in the area. Now, whenever we come back to the state, we always make it a point to dine here. The food is fantastic, and the service is excellent!
Hadn't been in years due to moving out of State. Had to go to our old favorite..it did not disappoint. Still the Best!
