I recently had a disappointing experience with a food establishment in the Mount Washington area. I called to place an order for creole food but was met with extremely rude and disrespectful behavior from a member of the staff. I attempted to order two servings of jambalaya, but every time I tried to place an order, the person I spoke to was condescending and dismissive. When I attempted to order baby back ribs, instead of being polite and informing me that it was a dinner item, the gentleman was incredibly impolite, stating that I couldn't have it without any explanation. I found this spot on Google because I wanted to try something different in the city. I walked in and noticed it was a nice quaint spot. The atmosphere was very nice. The staff was very pleasant. But I must say the food was delicious and awesome. They gave huge portions so much so that I couldn't eat it all and had to take it with me. I had the crab dip as shown in the pics. It was tasty. I loved it. I also had the brisket, mac and cheese, and shrimp thingy. That was great. As I stated, the portion was huge. It was suggested by my server, Lindsay, who was wonderful, might I add. Not even remotely like anything I have experienced in Louisiana. Dry jambalaya. Absent of most of the proper ingredients and they just threw a piece of grilled chicken on top. I wad honestly embarrassed for them. Service was slow and unacceptable as well. When people are empty and waiting for drinks that are high profit margin drinks, not taking care of them is gross mismanagement. Just a big waste of money and time.
This was my first time visiting the establishment. The atmosphere was great, and the service was wonderful. Hats off to the chef. The food was awesome. You have to try the cornbread with the honey and chive butter. I had the cream of crab with chunks of crabmeat. I also had the shrimp jambalaya. Overall, the food was really good. Will visit again. I don’t want to be mean, but I am not sure what the other reviewers are eating. The restaurant had to be completely out of salt and hasn’t restocked their spices because that was the blandest food I’ve had in my life. On par with cafeteria food and that “Creole” rice was shameful. Service was nice and the dessert was good.
The food and service were outstanding. I ordered the half rack of baby back ribs topped with mango chipotle sauce, along with mashed potatoes, and it was absolutely delicious!
This restaurant is amazing! Both the food and service are outstanding. The crab dip is the best I’ve ever tasted. You won’t regret dining here.
