I love this cute little cafe nestled in the wee suburb of Seddon. Fig & Walnut is located just opposite the Seddon station in an old shopping strip that has been renovated and nurtured back to life.The food, coffee and ambience are all way up there with the best that Seddon has to offer and although it's not in the main shopping/cafe area's of Charles Street or Victoria Street, it certainly holds it's own amongst the village locals.Certainly worth a visit to enjoy great food and coffee.
Fig and Walnut Cafe is a welcomed addition to Seddon. We've enjoyed lunch there on several occasions since it opened. Its slight quirky and quaint interior gives it character and the outside dining area is ideal for summer dining particularly with small children. Meals we've enjoyed have always been fresh, cooked well and nicely presented with a menu that is a little different. Service is bright and friendly while cost is reasonable. We'll visit the Fig and Walnut again for sure.
My Saturday brunch was memorable. The staff were welcoming and found me a table, brought me a menu, and offered me water without any fuss. I had the lamb meatballs and settled in with my book. My only interruption was when I was asked if I needed another coffee. Well done. I noticed that there was a pleasant secluded garden area in the rear, part undercover, but as the day was chilly I stayed inside.
This little gem is a lovely place to catch up with friends, grab a coffee, or eat a casual breakfast or lunch.We had some excellent coffee and while hubby chose a staple(eggs and bacon) I had a gruyere and chose omelette. Really enjoyed my lunch here at fig and walnut. Attentive service and quality food. Great spot to catch up with friends easy parking and right in front of train station. Have had smashed avocado at many places and have found great differences. Here the meal was generous and tasty, only wished now I'd taken a photo!
I have been here a few times over the past few months and l am so impressed. Food is great, healthy with the menu constantly changing. Service is friendly and you are made to feel welcome. Decor is amazing in fact l don't think there is another place like this in the area.
Fantastic and different combination of flavors. Food has obviously been cooked with love.staff friendly, helpful & patient. Definately worth a visit. Just wish their kitchen was open later.
