Before current, my wife and I were very loyal customers of Firehouse Subs. From day one we formed a routine. We would order our subs (my wife) Hook ladder hot tossed meat divide across the sub and Meatball for myself. Always regular and Large. Most times with a side soup, salad or dessert. While order was in process, we walked next door to get our coffee. Never disappointed. However, for the past year and a half much has changed. The order is never right, meat is slapped on one end or in the middle. Toppings are wrong most of the time, and the staff play and chat (out loud sometimes) about personal life. Heard about this 16 hour slow cooked brisket sub on a CORNBREAD roll over the radio and of course couldnt resist stopping by and checking it out. Heading back home to Richmond, VA from Tampa, FL I was pretty hungry so I was concerned my hunger would be eating this sub. But it hit the right notes. Unfortunately I didn't get much corn from the roll hence the 4. If that bread would have tasted more like a cornbread then I would have totally given them a 5. On a different note... the staff was amazingly friendly. They greeted me all 6 of them the moment I opened the door and all 6 of them said bye have a nice day. That was a nice touch.
This place is disgusting. The floor was sticky with dirt, the bathroom was worse than a nasty gas station bathroom. The drink dispenser hasn?t been cleaned in probably months. There were boxes scattered everywhere in the dining area. There were three employees who were nice enough, but worked at a a snails pace just chatting with each other and playing on their phones in between making sandwiches. It took them 20 minutes to make our two subs. When I finally got my order, both sub boxes were filthy. The sandwiches were basically thrown in the box. At that point my appetite was gone. This location needs some new management asap. Yuck.
Kovider nonsense is still something here. Employees complain loudly about other employees who do not come to work. Uncanny atmosphere with dead silence next to the complaints of the employees. The food should be ready at 1 o'clock, they started my order at 1:05. 25 minutes too late. 1 o'clock lunch, Nov 2022. Dining room and toilet dirty. I will not be going back. People were not friendly at all. They have a sign on the window about social distance, and a mask, but yet the employees did not have a mask on, the girls little child was behind the counter where they were fixing the food saying she had to pee, on top of that she coughed. Their business has really went down. Surprised they had a 92.7, the health inspector should of walked in then.
New manager is good. Our food was hot and delivered quickly. Place was clean. Workers respectful. They didn't put side with kids meal- I guess you are supposed to get it yourself. Perhaps they could make a habit of reminding people.
eating is very fast and the prices too much is good. I love the boxes in which their subparts come, instead of pockets that most places give them. they should explore a greater variety of brot, as most sub-positions now have. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
