We were visiting the capital and taking in all the sights. When we just wanted a break and a cold beer. I picked a place from google and we decided to drop in. Had ice cold beer and a great appetizer. Food was delicious.Talia was very welcoming. She greeted us with a smile and great conversation. Service was fantastic.Jerry was a Pittsburgh fan which was great for my husband as he is as well.I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. If you’re ever in the Arlington area visiting be sure to pop in and say Hello to them.Thank you for welcoming us in. If we make it that way again we will definitely stop back!
Do you like wings? Of course you do. Otherwise why the hell are you looking at eating at a place that basically is a wing place? Are the wings good? Yes. They are good. But the sauces and rubs are freaking delicious and has something for everyone. If you can't find a wing sauce that you like it probably says more about your mental stability than it does about these wings. Maybe you should take some stock of your own well being?Order some sauces. Some beers. Enjoy wings. Be a better human.Also? It's a dive bar atmosphere with people that love what they do. First Down Sports Bar is a decent bar to go to if you?re in the Ballston area. When I first walked in, I will say the smell was not too pleasant.. it smelled a little old and humid. I was there during their happy hour and took advantage of their rail drinks which are only $4.99! I got a bourbon with pineapple and cranberry. The food was honestly way better than I expected. I ordered a chicken wrap with spicy garlic butter... it was on point!
is a reliable spot to grab a drink and watch the game. The selection of craft beers could use some improvement, but the variety of pub food options, like chicken wings, is great. The staff is friendly and the decor is unique. Overall, a solid choice in the midst of Ballston's changing landscape.

Anthony was a cool dude. Fast friendly and the wings are awesome. I ordered the Jamaican Style wings and I am coming back to try all the other flavors. First time ever and am definitely glad I walked in.
Pure life a very nice place.. enjoy a lot with the Costa Ricans that we saw the party of Honduras vrs Costa Rica, I recommend it to all those who wish to visit it.
There has a never been a collective staff of nicer individuals, from management to those who clear the tables. Long live First Down. We need more places like it.
