Truly one of the best pubs in selsey! After a horrible experience during our stay at the cove park, we came here for a lunch to find some decent food and a good atmosphere. The staff were refreshingly friendly, accommodating and even were kind enough to squeeze us in for a last minute lunch despite being fully booked for the afternoon. The food was fresh and delicious and even with one of our children being a fussy eater, they accommodated our needs to find something he could eat. Loved this pub when you could book a 3 course dinner with a tribute with a lovely Atmosphere. Luke Aimee were great welcoming. May 2023 Lionel Richie tribute was Brilliant. July we saw Red Mick tribute but this time the food was by Banksy to be perfectly honest it was a Burger Chips , BQ Chicken ect... in other words Quick food Your Basic. I waited an hour for it to arrive was luke warm. I come all the way from bognor for that. Go back to your lovely meal dinners with a Restaurant. I can understand why the fast food is done . ..but it`s not for me, You cannot compare Real food with fast. The Staff are friendly Welcoming. I have put 5 stars for when we went. As a long-time resident and regular patron of this pub for two decades, I regret to say that I will never frequent the Joy again. The bar manager was extremely rude and the service was incredibly slow. The customer service was very poor, lacking in interpersonal skills and overall unwelcoming. This pub used to have a family-friendly atmosphere, but with the new management, I will not be returning until they change.
We visited here for Sunday lunch after an awful experience at a local holiday park (Seal Bay). The staff were so lovely and friendly. Food was amazing and they went over and beyond to make sure the whole family enjoyed their lunch. A must visit if you’re in the Selsey area! P.S. we finished the food before we had a chance to take a photo it was so good!

Had a wonderful evening at The Joy on Saturday. The entertainment was brilliant, Jason Lee, and the Indian meal was absolutely excellent. Such good value too. The staff were lovely, helpful and welcoming despite being rushed off their feet. Could not have been better. Will certainly be back as soon as possible.
We made a reservation for 8 people on Saturday, May 13th at 4 pm. When we arrived, we were informed that there was no booking and the kitchen was closing. After some discussion, we were offered some food, but we chose to go to The Crown up the road, which was excellent.
Love this pub.....Lucan, Aimee and all the staff are so welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. I had 35 friends join me for my birthday celebrations on a dine and entertainment night. Food was lovely, entertainment was good and a great night all round.
The bartenders were extremely impolite, the music was so loud that it was impossible to think, and it was disturbing the locals. I am very disappointed that they do not show any consideration for the locals or the visitors to the pub.

Great spot which has been taken on by a young friendly couple who have improved the place really well for families with and without kids, all welcome and a good play area for the younger kids also the garden pods are a great idea.
Nice lunch at the Fisherman's Joy. Good atmosphere and great outside play area for the children especially good during the summer months.
