We specifically went to look around the farm shop, we weren’t disappointed I have never seen so much fresh produce in one place before, (always visit a farm shop whilst away) the uncooked beef, pork etc was beautifully lean, the cooked pork/ham with crackling looked delicious to, there was fresh veg, cheeses quiches, all there to tempt you. There is a cafe area which was really popular. I bought cheese, a tray of uncooked pork pies to freeze, some bacon bacon chops as well as some biscuits. If we lived in the area I would buy all my meat from here as there is no waste sadly I had to be sensible as only have a small fridge in the caravan. We will definitely return.
We had never been here before and thought it sounded very good, we won't go again, we ordered the Grazing platter which consisted on the menu of pie, ham, cheese and pickles with crackers. Sounds like a ploughman's yes ? No, the pie was tastless and the crust inedible...the cheese weird, the ham tasteless and the pickles were semi raw carrot, olives, a weird jelly like cube of something, mini gherkins yuk what is wrong with cucumber, sun dried tomatoes and tasteless ham. We were very disappointed. Won't be back.
On my way north I decided to see if there was a new place to visit and I wasn't disappointed. This is a lovely little farmshop and the cafe is excellent. I had a beautifully prepared lunch of cod, smoked salmon, crab and sour cream potato cake on tomato and basil sauce with salsa Verde. Great presentation and perfectly cooked. In a restaurant it would have been double the cost but it was £15 well spent. The staff were friendly and welcoming and seemed very proud of the quality of the shop and cafe.
This restaurant is a hidden treasure. They offer a delightful variety of fresh meats, vegetables, pies, and cakes. The restaurant itself is charming, but be prepared for a potentially long wait as it is often busy. The quality of the food is consistently excellent and definitely worth the visit, especially for their locally sourced fresh meats – particularly the steaks. I highly recommend this place.

Popped in on the way up to Sunderland. Thought it might prove a tad more interesting than the usual A19 services. What a lovely surprise. Got a take out coffee and delicious freshly made ham and coleslaw sandwich. All of which was delicious and ham was very good quality. Wish I’d had time to stop for a browse in the farm shop as looked great. Maybe next time.
I was very impressed with the meals we had today. The presentation was outstanding and the quality was excellent for the value. Some past reviews mentioned that the staff was unfriendly, but since you order and pay at the counter, there is minimal interaction with them. However, all the staff we interacted with were charming!
I don't know if they are victims of their own success but we visited today and found it quite manic and stressful. The farm shop is quite small and it was so crowded it was almost impossible to browse. Staff didn't seem too happy either. They clearly have some quality produce but it was all just a bit chaotic.
This was my first time dining at this restaurant, but it definitely won't be my last. The meal I had was one of the best I've had in a long time. The salmon dish was absolutely delicious, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back again.

Been here a couple of times, this time we were sat at a very cramped table. Food was ok but nothing special, and we had a bit of a wait, to be fair they were rather busy
We stopped for breakfast at this busy farm shop and restaurant and its not far from home the food is great especially the eggs benedict
