Fonab Castle Brasserie

I had a wonderful experience at Fonab, a beautiful, elegant, and welcoming hotel with stunning views of greenery. The service, especially from the Scottish concierges, was exceptional and the bed and room were extremely comfortable. The restaurant (brasserie) was also very good, although I found the bar prices to be a bit high. The spa treatment (facial by Megan) was excellent, but I was a bit disappointed with the rest of the spa, as it felt too plain and simple for such a luxurious place. The staff were all very accommodating, even to our young baby. A beautiful restaurant with spectacular views up the river through ceiling to floor windows. We ate breakfast and dinner in the brasserie and the food is superb. So much choice and if you wanted something off the menu I expect it would be no problem to the chefs to accommodate this. Well presented food served by the most charming, hard working, exceptionally well trained and personable young staff.

The formal restaurant should have its own listing apart from the Brasserie. Sandemans restaurant and taster menu are a luxury combination. We were very fortunate to be given a voucher for afternoon tea. There was a party of 6 of us. The food was to very high standard. We had a lovely time. The staff were extremely polite and explained each dish as they came out. Couldn't fault.
