Without a doubt, this restaurant offers the best food and service in the valley within this price range. The beautifully prepared beef filet melts in your mouth, perfectly seasoned and cooked exactly to your liking. I've savored it dozens of times, and it has always been consistent, with the only variation being the price, which remains competitive with other establishments. Every other dish is equally outstanding, and the wine list is diverse and reasonably priced compared to most places. The drinks are generously poured, and the chef at Food 101 is exceptionally talented, while the waitstaff are consistently well-trained. Don’t miss the chance to dine at this remarkable spot.
This is my favorite restaurant in Western Mass hands down. Me and my fiancé have been coming here for 5 yrs every Valentines Day and I've never had a bad meal. The crab and lobster cakes are phenomenal so tasty and good sized portion. My fiancé ordered the filet which was perfect as usual melts in your mouth and that gorgonzola sauce...so good! I got the scallops which came with a pea and mascarpone puree I didn't know what I was going to get with that but it was absolutely delicious and complimented everything on the plate so well, it really took it to another level. We finished it off with crème brulee which of course never disappoints. Well done!
They were out of the chop I wanted from the menu, so I opted for a ribeye steak instead. It was quite fatty and came with thin, stringy, overcooked French fries. My dining companion ordered the chicken breast, but it turned out to be rubbery and undercooked. On a positive note, the lobster and crab cake appetizer was excellent. When I mentioned these issues to the server, she expressed her apologies but didn’t call the manager or offer to rectify the situation. Instead, she simply shrugged, dropped the check on the table, and left. For just over $100 for one drink, one appetizer, and two entrees, it wasn’t value for money at all.
The food is quite enjoyable, but the prices are laughably high, and the service leaves much to be desired. The waitstaff seem completely untrained in managing a table; they frequently and rudely interrupt guests mid-conversation, showing a complete lack of finesse. Their demeanor comes off as both rude and indifferent. Often, what distinguishes a dining experience isn't just the quality of the food but how well the staff is trained to engage with patrons in a respectful manner. I was really disappointed with the whipped ricotta cheese bruschetta. There was hardly any ricotta on it, the pesto was overly salty, and the bread reminded me more of Texas toast than traditional bruschetta. This dish did not meet the restaurant's usual standards. I would suggest either improving it to match its description or removing it from the menu entirely.
Worst Dining Experience in 20 years.. I suggested food101 to a friend for hosting a future educational leadership event.. made reservations (02 14 2023) and it wasn't that busy. FOH Wait staff were horrible.. came off as rude and seemed angry at everyone. one entree came out cold.. We do not recommend for private or professional events.. Service: Dine in
Great food, cocktails, and service! We came in on what we thought would be a quieter Tuesday night and it was still fairly busy. Our waitress was on point providing attentive service, great recommendations, and our drinks and food came quickly. While a bit pricey (expect $30-$40 for an entree), the portions were a good size and food was very tasty.
From the moment I reached out to them, they were very responsive and accommodating. They even offered to refrigerate my daughter's birthday cake before they opened for the day!
