Great ambience. Acceptable place. Probably expensive drinks. Unfortunately, our drinks did not live everything the foundation had to offer. The Dark and Stormy simply tasted Boozy and had no other recognizable taste. The Jamaican Sour tasted like Barsaurier. I am over fifty years old and enjoy many kinds of drinks. These had no complexity or depth. If I think Tiki, I think of a refreshing fruity drink that I would enjoy on the beach. I was hoping the foundation would take me there for a while.
This is one of the best bars I have ever been to. When you first walk in, the whole room seems almost a little too dark, but quickly you settle in and start to drift away, your eyes adjust, and you suddenly feel transported to a more relaxing and peaceful world. You don't want to leave. The drinks are strong and delicious, and they come in souvenir tiki cups. The Zombie and Mai Tai are my favorites here.
I think Foundation is the best Tiki-bar in Milwaukee. Small and really cute, quite dark inside, provides a lot of intimacy and super carefree, tropical vibes (must be such a great place to be in the dead of a Milwaukee winter, though I've never enjoyed it! Very friendly staff, quick service, clean, and delicious drinks.
I've been living in Riverwest for 17 years and I've been going to the foundation bar ever since. Drinks are good, but the change is service-style sucks. No longer sitting at the bar with bartenders and watching them make these great drinks. Hopefully they change that and their personality when they serve you. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Maybe the best Tiki bar ever. Perfectly decorated. Apparently, a lot of love was poured here. It meets all the points you are looking for in a Tiki bar. Super Dimm, tropical music always play, an escape from the outside. Your drinks are at the point with prices that you cannot beat! Also great rum selection!
I wish I could put 10 stars. It is an amazing place. I have been going to Foundation for last 9 years and I love everything about it. Music, atmosphere, design and of course drinks. Drinks are delicious. My favorite is Mai Tai, the best one I have ever had.
We have now been here on three separate trips and each is better than the last! Service was amazing, drinks fantastic and the atmosphere can’t be topped! As you can tell we are major fans. Next time we will stay in the tiki themed Airbnb!
