So disappointed with our lunch experience. Our server, Ann S. Was not friendly or helpful. She was very slow to come back to our table for our order and when we asked if it was possible to split the check at the end for us she said maybe but you know it gets really busy here so I don't know. In the end she did split but seemed to be put out. Did not seem concerned or to offer much when I indicated I needed gluten-free. Said I could probably have a salad. I decided to order chicken. Hands down the best tavern style pizza I've had in the Southwest suburbs! This a review of the carry out experience. My partner called in the order for an 18 inch pepperoni pizza. They said it'd be ready in about 25 minutes, and it was hot and ready when I arrived. The staff were friendly and efficient. They do have a sign by the register that there's an incentive to pay in cash vs card. They also have a specific door for carry out orders. They have plenty of free parking on premise. Time to update my review. Fox's had a BOGO half of deal on family pizzas for Labor Day weekend. It's a good deal and enough pizza to eat some and have leftovers for a few days. I love the pizza here. Thin, crispy tavern style. Good, rich sauce that isn't too sweet and a great quality cheese. Not that weird rubbery flavorless junk the cheapskates use. A long time I got into it with the manager here over a poorly executed pizza I bought/ordered. After the phone call, I swore that I would never return. Well, maturity set in since then and I said one more try. Glad I did. Ordered the usual to go and received a popping hot pepperoni/garlic pizza. Delicious!!! They weren't shy with the ingredients, execution was spot on, sauce is too die for. Needs some attention. The interior is dated and seems very dirty. Our server was lousy and I smelled alcohol on his breath in addition to what smelled like an entire pack of cigarettes. We were charged for items we ordered and never received, no apology from waiter. With so many restaurants to choose from in this area, I'm not sure I'd return to this one. It's a real shame too, we used to come very often with our children for the events they offer on Friday nights.
I was visiting from Minnesota and told my father that I wanted thin crust pizza like I grew up on (in the Chicago burbs). He suggested Fox's. I had never been there. It was exactly what I wanted thin, crispy, cut into squares! The sausage had a delicious fennel flavor. I was particularly excited that my father offered to let me take the leftovers back to Minnesota with me! I can't wait to go back!
I think Fox's Pizza is the top choice in the southern suburbs. We decided to try their pizza and we were extremely satisfied with our choice. The thin crust was wonderfully crispy, the tomato sauce had just the right balance of sweetness, and the Italian sausage was delicious. The pricing was also very fair. I would definitely return for this exceptional pizza time and time again.
I had a reservation for a table in the music area, but when we arrived there were no tables available. We waited for 20 minutes before deciding to leave and go somewhere else.
