Have been here often and it’s always been excellent! On this visit, I chose the fish and chips, but no chips… and peas instead. I can’t rate this restaurant any higher… from the phone call to reserve a table, to the lovely welcome by Carol when we arrived. We sat in the bar area because it’s dog friendly and has a relaxed, chilled atmosphere. All I can say is that I am not a fussy eater, but can’t stand fish when it’s overcooked or steaming for a while, but the haddock was cooked to perfection! It was clearly just cooked andI was sorry when it was finished! I can’t recommend it enough. for me! Xx
I decided to write a negative review because of the disappointing experience I had at this restaurant. I ordered the Steak and Ale pie and was completely disappointed. The pastry was cold, the meat and gravy were lukewarm and tough, and the vegetables were overcooked and unappetizing. When the waitress asked how our meal was, I told her it was mediocre at best, but she didn't seem to care or make any effort to address the issue. We decided not to order anything else and left as soon as possible. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
I booked a Christmas lunch for 27.95 and was disappointed to find that the table was plain with no decorations or crackers. The turkey dinner consisted of processed turkey and frozen roast potatoes, and the bruschetta was served cold. The pudding was enjoyable, but overall, it was not worth the money. I was shocked to discover that the turkey was frozen, reminding me of the frozen Bisto meals I used to have as a child. I definitely won't be visiting this restaurant again.
Food was very good, especially salmon which had a lovely crispy skin. . New chicken wings a little bit too hot for me. The only down side is that the white wine is never really cold, it’s never as cold as in your fridge at home. The other down side is that when there is live music in the bar side the over head music carries on as well which is awful listening to two different records at the same time, gives you a sore head. Service very good and friendly

Visited with my daughter and 2 kids for lunch for my birthday.had the toasted sandwiches which were good.ordered our food ,2 lots of toasted sandwiches,kids soup and kids macaroni,macaroni arrived about 10 minutes after the rest but only after a query as to where it was otherwise I think it would have been forgotten.after a few visits here food is good but service is not consistent,we visited midweek for a birthday treat.
Can't fault Foxton at all. We've been a number of times and the food is consistently fantastic, the staff are always friendly and warm to the guests and the restaurant itself is absolutely lovely to look around, it has a great atmosphere. We will most definitely be back yet again, hopefully for their hot rock steak again.
My extended family gathered at Foxtons today for a meal. All seven of us thoroughly enjoyed our tasty meals. The staff was amazing, especially David who went above and beyond to accommodate us. We will definitely be returning soon.
Food took a while to arrive, but overall, it was very good and worth the wait. Will definitely be back to give it another try, perhaps when it's a little quieter. Service was good also as staff seemed to be enjoying themselves!

By far the best restaurant for service, food drink in the area. A massive bonus is the bar area is dog friendly meaning we can return more often with our furry friend.
