For the record, I was not going to write a review for this disappointing experience, but the venue emailed me to complete a review, which I wrote for them and have decided to include in its entirety below. Also, my girlfriend and I make a habit of splurging on food experiences and then make it a hobby to recreate our favorite dishes at home, so we are more than happy to spend this kind of money when the experience delivers. I’ve been to FRAMEbar a handful of times for special events and LOVED it. However, when my husband took me for a Mother’s Day brunch it fell flat. The host was less than thrilled that we had a baby with us and despite the restaurant being very empty almost the entire time we were there, we were sat in a pretty inconvenient location near the door to the patio. We felt like we were in the way of the servers going in and out the entire meal. My wife and another couple attended the FrameJames Beard dinner last night. We attended a year ago and it was amazing. Last night the food did not taste good. The Octopus and the pistachio baklava were decent. Everything else did not taste good at all. The ice cream was served in small cartons instead of scooped onto a dish. Our whole table was heavily disappointed. At $313 per couple for this tasting we feel we were heavily taken advantage of and will not be returning to this event. The rest of our table was very unhappy with Friday nights meal and will not be returning. Went to FrameBar yesterday for the BirriaBar pop-up with chef Eddie Vargas. Food was excellent and a great value for the amount of food at the price point. I loved that the chef was making the rounds in the dining room to ensure every customer was satisfied. The birria platter and quesabirria were both great, as well as the salsas, queso, and aguacates. My wife and I had a great experience at FRAMEbar last night Excellent food, great cocktails, and friendly service. This place has a great atmosphere with delicious meals to match.
I came during their birriaBAR residency and it was fantastic! Really awesome concept maybe one day I can chef it up in their kitchens! Looking forward to visiting in the future!
