This might be the first time I’ve had Persian food! It’s similar to Mediterranean food, but has its own set of distinct qualities.We ordered the Chicken Kabob, the Beef/Chicken Kobideh, and finished with a serving of Saffron Ice Cream.I loved the flavor of the Chicken Kabob. My wife didn’t like it as much, but I thought it was great. She was a bigger fan of the Chicken Kobideh, which had more added flavors and seasoning. The Beef Kobideh was pretty good too!If you’ve never had Kobideh (like me), then I would describe it as an upscale Dyno Nugget. It’s chicken or beef that has been pulverized, then mixed together with seasoning and cooked. It’s not bad, really. Not my favorite, but I can see...
We were on a trip from Vancouver, Canada to Salt Lake City and were looking for a Persian restaurant. We read Google reviews and realized that Sumac was the place to go! The food, staff and atmosphere were so good that we went there twice during our short trip. The managers and staff put a lot of effort in taking care of customers and they go extra miles to ensure their customers are satisfied. There are many Persian restaurants in Vancouver, but none of them is comparable to Sumac. The next time someone asks me in Vancouver which Persian restaurant you recommend, I will say Sumac. Driving 1600 km down southeast is worth it! Will definitely be back. Keep up the excellent work Sumac!
The atmosphere at this restaurant is very calming. Our server was attentive. My spouse and I ordered hummus with pita bread, as well as a chicken kebab with rice. We split the meal and had leftovers to take home. The saffron tea was fantastic, with just the right amount of sweetness and the perfect temperature. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant. 10/10.

Went here two weeks ago for the first time and it was really delicious and juicy, I got the chicken kabob plate and it was so good, also tried the hummus and the two yogurt appetizers on the menu, really delicious 10/10, will be back again for sure
This Persian restaurant is one of the best in the United States. The atmosphere is authentically Persian and the food is of fantastic quality. The staff are also extremely friendly, making for a great dining experience.
