This new rib joint in Cremorne is obviously still going through its growing pains when we arrived for a hearty rib dinner and catch up with mates.I say growing pains because it took forever for a drink order to be taken, and I only saw one server actually working the floor. There was a friendly chatty gentleman but I think he was more so either the owner or chef couldn't tell.We shared wings and each of us decided to get the baby back ribs. The wings were okay- but the cardinal sin of not having blue cheese sauce made them taste and feel like they were missing something. The ribs were great- fall off the bone, sweet spicy bbq sauce and big portions on a bed of fries. Don't expect your smoker...
Went there this for dinner on Saturday night Arrived to an empty restaurant (hello alarms bells) ) Ordered drinks to be told out they had run out at 7.30 on a sat night ordered a 300gr steak Was not asked how I would like it done The food arrived asked for tobacco source (Not somethin g they serve ) Ordered cheese melt fries You could supply enough oil for a city The fries with the food tasted stale The oil had not been changed. My steak looked like it had been under a truck, a flat rump steak (I think not) We finished the sub standard food and waited 45 minutes to have tables cleared The owner was too busy entertaining friends to attend to paying customers. It was a cold winters night so Ribs seemed like a good idea.... let's try Franco's! We'd heard about their Ribs.... firstly we were welcomed in by the owner who was friendly and attentive.He suggested the Bruscetta, which was really good. Then we had the 1/2 rack of Ribs that came within really addictive fries, then the marinated chicken and a generous serving of Greek salad.All in all, I can't fault the restaurant. The servings were generous and tasty, the red wine good and the atmosphere pleasant.This will definitely become one of my regulars.Thanks Franco!
If you love ribs, and you haven't been here, I suggest you rectify that. Quickly. The ribs, and the chicken skewer my partner got were both excellent. Some of the best ribs I've ever had, and I've had a few. Don't be put off by how quiet this place is right now. It has recently opened and needs to get more people through the door. To get a bit of short term volume I'd suggest a GroupOn offer, similar to that used successfully by other businesses in the area, such as Curry Door. Until, trust the food. Went here for a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch. What a surprise find this is! Ordered way too much but loved it. Highlights we're the buffalo wings and the massive 1.2kg rack of ribs. The ribs are pork and were deliciously sticky. Very well priced. Especially the $15 for a full Portuguese chicken. Will be picking a few of those up for take away.
I made a reservation for Saturday night at this restaurant. It wasn't very busy. The waitress took our order, but then forgot about it and had to retake it 10-15 minutes later. The food was not very good. The Pale Ale beer was flat and didn't taste right. Overall, I much prefer Ribs and Burgers in Neutral Bay.
Had mixed feeling given the hit and miss reviews on TripAdvisor. The food IS good - between us we had the buffalo wings, ribs and a chicken skewer. Generous portions and all very tasty. The best I've ever had? Nope, but if you're in the area, give them a try. Odd decor and service was fine.
The owner and staff were friendly and easy to talk to. The hospitality was great and the signature ribs were beautiful. We will definitely be returning. This restaurant is still new, so don't be discouraged by any negative reviews. Give it a try and see for yourself. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
