We always go to Friar Tuck for our Sunday dinner. They offer a variety of meats and seasonal vegetables each week, allowing you to choose one, two, or three meats. You can also choose between one, two, or three courses. We usually start with soup and end up so full from the delicious roast that we can't even fit in dessert. The home-cooked food is reasonably priced, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is lively with locals having a good time. The dining area is not very big, so it's a good idea to book a table for Sunday lunch, although it's not always necessary.
This pub may be easy to overlook from the outside, but it holds a delightful surprise within. The atmosphere is fantastic, with friendly and professional staff at the bar and a cozy environment filled with warmth and energy. The beer selection is exceptional, and even a mediocre pint was quickly and graciously replaced by a knowledgeable landlord. The food smelled amazing and the pub seemed to be a popular spot for families, friends, and solo diners. I will definitely be visiting again.
My boyfriend and I visited Friar Tucks pub to watch a game on a Friday night. The bar was crowded, but we were disappointed to find out that the kitchen had already closed before 8pm, leaving only pukka pies and crisps as options for food. The drink prices were fair, but the glass of red wine I ordered was undrinkable, likely due to an old bottle. My boyfriend requested a new bottle, which greatly improved the taste. Overall, it is a decent bar to enjoy a drink and watch a game.
Best to give this place a miss. Initially when the new landlord moved in it looked promising, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. But the lunch/dinner menu is limited. 20 months later it is back to how it was with the previous landlord, more of a sports bar than family friendly pub and definitely not somewhere to take children.

Stayed overnight, with breakfast. Lovely staff, great beer garden. Room clean shower and facilities good. Fantastic breakfast! Mix up with payments (my fault entirely!! but they were brilliant about it. Highly recommended, will def stay here again if I'm back in Gloucester.
Good local pub which shows a good range of sports and has a good friendly atmosphere. Entertainment is good and caters for all ages and always a top night. Only ever had bar food but always been very good and good value for money, especially the curry’s!
Amazing breakfast one of the best ive had. Stayed the night for thr Cheltenham races. Very welcoming landlord and friendly people. Would stay again
Amazing Sunday roast, generous portion at a great price. Great atmosphere in the restaurant and lovely garden area at the back with kids play area.

If you want a filling clean breakfast, the Friar full house won't disappoint. Great food at a good price great service.
