I have been going to Frydays for their fish since they opened. I can't speak to the other items on their extensive menu because I am more than satisfied with their fish and chips. The fish is always freshly cooked to order and served hot and crispy. My only issue, if you can call it that, is that their jumbo cod is too large! It seems to be cooked for too long, resulting in a dry piece of cod covered in overcooked batter. I have mentioned it a few times, but they have never quite gotten it right for me. I know that large fillets can be cooked perfectly because I have had them at a rival shop 100 miles away. My solution at Frydays is to order the smaller size and enjoy perfection!
Big fan of this takeaway, and my weekly treat is their 'small ' portion of chips, which is enough to feed the hungriest appetite! Even when fresh from the fryer, they aren 't overly greasy, and the batter is delicious. I have only ever had the chips and an occasional fish (only order 'jumbo ' if you 're REALLY hungry they 're massive!! , but they have an extensive menu, and from their fishbites to kebabs I 've never heard anyone complain! Great prices too, and the staff are all really friendly and helpful. Definitely the best chippy in the area!
This is the only place I know where you can get five beautifully cooked pieces of fish and small chips with batter to feed two people for less than five pounds. The fish is always fresh and hot due to the quick turnover. The staff are pleasant and helpful. It is the perfect option for a Friday dinner.
Great fish and chips, or should I say whale, huge portion that would have filled two people, also a great pizza that a friend ordered. Been there several times and have not found fault. Only down side is it gets very busy and it has very few places to sit and wait for your order.

The Wallsend area has loads of chip shops but this one bests everyone a mile off Ran by a lovely family Beautiful food never ever had a problem. The kids meals are fab .
Best chippy in Wallsend ..massive portions of fish and chips,always fresh .Gets busy but plenty staff so you won't wait to long.

We have ordered here around 10 times, food is always fresh and sent on time, original chicken kebab is fantastically tasty.

Huge portion of fish and chips. Served in paper as they should be. Crispy batter, well cooked chips. What a treat!
