When I first saw the reviews on this place it almost convinced me against trying it. But I found their website intriguing. And one of the locals at the Westin hotel said they thought it was good to try. I took my family of five and we were so glad we went. We are from Los Angeles and we have been to many very good ramen places. This place was not the best in the world, but it's certainly pretty good. And the prices are very fair, especially considering you are in Whistler. The food is very authentic. The menu selection is pretty limited. Super overpriced for what you get. Been here twice on both my trips to whistler. 1st experience wasn't the greatest. But After a night out and craving something with soup I gave it a 2nd chance. It is the only ramen/noodle place in whistler, so it does get super packed. On my most recent visit it was so bad I only had 2 bites! Broth had really no taste and was so salty. It came with 1 piece of meat and noodles. Everything else you have to add on with additional cost. I do love the concept of the market though and the setting! Super cute.
A nice grab and go option just outside the village for lunch. A selection of rolls and donburi in the back cooler with lots of interesting Japanese drink options. The market is the best I've tried a bunch of the frozen products (gyoza, ramen, mochi, melona pops and stock up on Japanese condiments, snacks and sushi making materials to take home. If it's a nice day, the patio seating out front has an awesome view of the mountains (beyond the parking lot! .
it's just ok in absolute terms. but for whistler, i might move it up to 4 stars because of price. i like the ramen that they offer. actually, if you crave ramen, this is the place to go in whistler. the rest of their food? not memorable. but it is japanese run and i don't leave feeling like i just got ripped off. No beef despite a $6 up charge for a beef rice bowl. I just got a few tiny beef shavings (maybe 1oz of beef) and a few pieces of tofu. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered it again on another occasion and received the same quantity a second time. Way to insult your customers.
I did not know there was a Japanese grocery store until I stopped by for ramen next door. Their selection is small and on the overpriced side because this is Whistler. We got some instant noodles and an o-nigiri as snacks back in our hotel room.
I'm supporting the earlier reviewer. This place was just what we were looking for today and under reviewed. We got the miso ramen (spicy) and it was perfect on this cold day. Good flavor broth and the chashu pork was flavorful.
