Make sure you make reservations for larger parties. They do not have online reservations you have to call. Server was great, very helpful, knowledgeable and personal. She made the experience wonderful and unique. She had so many suggestions, never had to prompt her. Only feedback was that dishes needed to be cleared away sooner. They sat for a while. She took our drink orders quickly, split up our bill correctly, and our food was brought out in a somewhat in a timely manner. The sushi bar took a little bit longer to get our food, which did not allow us to eat all together. My feedback to the food is that it should all come out at the same time. This is a combined sushi and tempenake place like many others but with great service and really creative sushi and rolls. This has 4 stars from me simply because it is not fine dining. The exterior glass is covered in food art photos and its location between Best Buy and Pet Smart make it difficult to know simply from walking by if this is a good choice...but it is. We went in late at night (around 9pm) and had the run of the sushi bar. The Fredericksburg roll is a great blend of spicy and salty. The cucumber roll, where thin slices of cucumber substitute for rice in a traditional roll is refreshing. The roe sushi topped with a raw quail egg yolk is certainly an upscale touch. What an incredible experience! We visited yesterday, and I ordered the sashimi mania, which included 17-21 pieces of assorted sashimi, along with sunomono salad, two orders of mackerel, and an order of uni. From the moment the food arrived, I knew it would be exceptional. The presentation of the sushi was unmatched compared to any other place I've tried since moving to Northern Virginia. As I enjoyed the sashimi, it was clear that the fish was incredibly fresh and of the highest quality. I can't express enough how impressed we were with this restaurant. Whether you're in the mood for sushi or teppanyaki, this is definitely the place to go—truly the best in the Fredericksburg, VA area!
It was a great experience! However, similar to other hibachi places, we were seated with a group that preferred to chat among themselves and didn’t really engage in the show until the end. I personally enjoy these kinds of restaurants more when there are outgoing guests, which my kids and I did not experience this time. I’m rating this place a two because the food appeared appealing. However, we chose not to dine in. The restaurant was excessively noisy, and we were seated near young children who were running around. Additionally, the dinner prices were quite high. I would recommend ordering takeout or coming with a large group to occupy a table, but if you're looking for a pleasant dining experience for just the two of you, I suggest steering clear of this restaurant.
Wow, this food is soooo fresh, seriously I ordered ahituna, rare and literally tasted the ocean with every bite, the steak was tender, the lobster perfectly cooked (not tough) and the chef was amazingly talented, by far the best tappanyaki I've had, check out my photos for more on this place, or just go, you won't be dissatisfied!
Arrive early or be prepared to wait. This small hibachi restaurant is outstanding. I really enjoyed both the entertainment and the food. I had the filet, and it was incredibly tender and flavorful. The service was also excellent. Everything was fantastic! I plan to visit often, and they offer a military discount as well.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant with our group of eight! The food was absolutely delicious and very satisfying, which was definitely a highlight of our visit.
