Located just off the Esplanade on Meyer St in Lakes Entrance, this Cafe is a popular spot that opens at 8am and quickly fills up. Arriving at 8:10am, we were fortunate to snag the last available table as others were being advised to return later. The food is tasty and reasonably priced, though the menu may not be as innovative or funky as the Cafe's name suggests. Despite this, the coffee and hot cakes with maple syrup were delicious and a hit with the kids. Definitely worth a visit when exploring this stunning part of Victoria.
I ordered a regular mocha for $4.5 and an apple custard. The mocha was delicious, with a perfect balance of coffee and chocolate. This was my first time trying a mocha, as I usually go for cappuccinos or lattes, but I have to say it was amazing. The apple custard was also tasty, with fresh tart apples cooked down and mixed in with a moist pastry. The rich custard inside was good, although I wish it had been a bit smoother.
If you're in the area, this restaurant is a must-visit with its fantastic service, delicious food, and coffee. It's a pity they're not in Melbourne! I especially loved the eggs Benedict with apple gel, while my partner enjoyed the smashed avocado. We both absolutely loved our meals. They also offer a tasty wet chai, which is a rare find in this region. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in Gippsland.
(4.5/5) Nice brunch spot in this area. We celebrated a friend's birthday here. We were able to keep our birthday cake in their fridge. Good service! There is a big table for large groups, which was great for us. Most of the dishes were actually very tasty. Unique combination in the potato rosti gave this dish a different kick. Love the taste of the potato being a bit savoury with combination of nuts and poached egg. Fried chicken waffle is also their recommendation. The waffle is very nice and they add a dash of hoisin sauce if not mistaken. The chicken is juicy and tender, piled on a very well presented salad. Lovely!
A shining beacon of light in the seemingly turbid waters that are Lake Entrance. We found the food and coffee (breakfast) at this cafe to be amazing very tasty, well executed and top notch presentation.
