I expect Funky Momo to be quite popular once people discover it (or am I just biased because I love Momo?!) Between this place and MOM Dumpling House just a few blocks down, Vic Park residents are definitely spoiled for choice when it comes to tasty steamed parcels of deliciousness. It's in the premises formerly occupied by 6101 Tapas Café, which has a small dining area at the front, including some outdoor seating, and then a larger dining room out the back. Funky Momos is a new casual Nepalese restaurant with a variety of different things on their menu. To our surprise there was a dining section out the back which we enjoyed sitting in decorated quite simply with flags and some flower beds. They are not licensed so BYO was great. For 3 people and 2 bottles we paid only $3.75 all up! They were very friendly and gave us a run down of the menu and answered any questions with a smile. Tolles Essen! Die Knödel waren unglaublich - mein Favorit war das gedünstete und chilli-Klotz, aber der Rest war auch großartig. Die Tauchsauce war lecker und im Gegensatz zu jeder anderen Sauce hatte ich vorher gehabt. Die Lamm- und Hähnchenkürze waren so lecker! Der Geschmack war hervorragend! Wir setzten den Rücken aus, der ein überdachter Deck mit Tisch, Stühlen, Sofas und Kissen ist, mit Blumen und hängenden Flaggen dekoriert. Es hatte so eine schöne Atmosphäre und auch kühlende Fans und Herrn! Der Service war schnell und freundlich. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!
Great food! The dumplings were amazing - my favourite were the steamed and chilli dumpling but all the rest were great too. The dipping sauce was delicious and unlike any other sauce I have had before. The lamb and chicken curries were so tasty! The flavour was outstanding! We sat out the back which is a covered deck with table, chairs, couches and pillows, decorated with flowers and hanging flags. It had such a lovely atmosphere and also cooling fans and misters! The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be back!
Ich habe meinen ersten Besuch geliebt, also ging ich wieder etwas anderes, um etwas anderes auszuprobieren, wenig enttäuscht mit dem zweiten Besuch, wie Sie in meinen Bildern sehen können, in der Tupka-Schüssel mit Nudeln gibt es zu viel Öl. Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass ich Öl trinkte, und Lamm war in Choila etwas verbrannt, gedünstet und Chili Momos waren großartig. Ich habe Momo Platter und Chow Chowmein bei meinem ersten Besuch ausprobiert, beide waren sehr lecker.
I loved my first visit so I went again to try something different, little bit disappointed appointed with second visit, as you can see in my pics, in tupka bowl with noodles there is tooo much OIL. I felt like I was drinking OIL and lamb was bit burnt in choila, Steamed and chilli momos were great. I tried momo platter and chicken chowmein in my first visit , both of them were very yummy. I enjoyed the Momos- they were really tasty especially with the sauce. The only thing was the door kept opening which brought cold winds, and the service was quite slow (the momo platter took 40 minutes to come out.) The actual dumplings were excellent- especially the pan fried and chilli ones.
