My wife and I went here as we had seen advertisements on the side of public transit and thought it would be something to try. It is slightly further than we would usually venture for a dinner, but thought again that it would be an experience just the same. Walked in and noticed that it is more of a take out kind of restaurant, however, there were plenty of tables there. Most of the people that came in, ordered and took dinner home with them. Perhaps that's what we should have done as well. We can't complain about the taste of the chicken. It was quite flavourful. As usual, we ordered a glass of ice water and lemon, as we find it most refreshing. Yes, it was just tap water..not bottled water...
I've had a number of Portuguese BBQ and rotisserie chicken dinners around but this one is the only one I return to on a regular basis. This is an intimate neighbourhood restaurant with home-style cooking. Her BBQ chicken is tasty and tender; always hot, rotisserie chicken is also great.Highly recommend to try other great Portuguese dishes, particularly fish and seafood. She makes the best roasted potatoes too.The food here tastes like you're visiting your Portuguese mother's kitchen.The service is always very friendly.
These Portuguese Chicken places are popping up everywhere in Vaughan. I can count 6 off the top of my head. One of our company meetings was catered by Galina's. The Chicken was on the dry side and was baked instead of grilled. The "Hot" sauce was not hot at all and was oily.Typical fare at these places is Chicken, Rice, Potatoes and Salad. I prefer the grilled style at Nando's and their Peri-Peri sauce is better at Nandos as well.
I started to come here after a friend told me about this place. I've already ordered take out from here five or six times already and seriously they never disappoint. I always get the family deal, one whole chicken and two medium sides (rice and potato balls). The chicken is always tender and juicy and the sides are more than generous portions!! We are truly blessed because we live right down the street. This is a great find. The food is always fresh, delicious and well worth every penny. We always take out and eat at home. Lina the owner is a wonderful person. She really knows how to cook like my mom does but much closer. We eat Galina's every week. Had it again tonight :)
The best Portuguese food ever. There is no comparison to anything else except the best homemade AMD fresh daily. Lina and her family are awesome and the kind service they give is unforgettable. If you want home cooked food fast and well priced this is a great spot. We tried both the fish and chicken entrees and sides of potatoes and salad. All fresh and tasty!
