Attended a high tea here. When we booked we were emailed an extensive range of options for vegan guests, none of which were offered today. The first sandwich I was brought out was mainly mayo so I had to send it back since it wasn't even vegan and then my $30 a head meal ended up consisting of a coffee, a sandwich and a plate of fruit (that contained rotten pineapple) and a tiny tub of sorbet which tasted like jam. I understand that vegan can at times be hard to cater for, but don't promise delicious vegan options and then not deliver. We dined at the Galleons Restaurant on Christmas Eve, sat at a table by the window overlooking their beautiful swimming pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered a beautiful dish of prawn and chorizio papadella. The meal was tasty, was full of prawns and chorizio and had whole cherry tomatoes in it that gave it a sharp bite that freshened the palate. The deserts were also wonderful, I had the pannacotta with fresh fruit that gave a flavoursome burst in the mouth and my partner had the merinques with fruit that was very elegantly displayed on the plane
We went to Galleons for our anniversary and we where not disappointed. As always beautiful meals in a relaxed atmosphere. I enjoyed the the salt and pepper squid which was such a fresh dish with so much flavour and as a main the pappardelle which is SO delicious. My husband Had the bruschetta and the chicken breast and as a really fussy eater he ate it all and was very Happy. To top off our Delicious food was the incredible service. It's so refreshing to go to a restaurant and have great service with a attentive and Caring waitress.
We book in at last minute 21/10/16 no problem, upon arrival greeted pleasantly and shown to our table. we had a waitress from Indonesia, very very pleasant and excellent table and customer training, she laughed as she said she struggled with the english language, we ordered the Bruschetta which was excellent, then we order a sea food platter for one as we are not big eaters, we struggled to get through it. the food was excellent. The Galleons has got to be the BEST restaurant in Mackay by far.

My husband and I enjoyed a meal at Galleons for our anniversary. We both had an entree and main and I had a dessert. All food was beautifully plated and good quality. Service was friendly and very efficient. We sat at an inside table which overlooks an inground pool set in tropical surroundings and is air conditioned. Outdoor tables are also available but could be a little humid during the summer months. I recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I spent a lovely Saturday evening wining and dining at Galleons for the first time in several years. We will certainly not wait as long until we next visit. The food and the service were exceptional...genuine fine dining experience.Three courses each for 2 people, a couple of premium beers and 3 glasses of wine for $170.00...pretty good value for what we received.
Birthday dinner for my sister in law. An awesome evening and the food was divine. I chose 2 entrees with one being a main size. Panko and sesame prawns for entree and the seared scallops for main. Best meal I have had there in a while. Dessert also was a real treat..the flourless chocolate cake. Will be back. Thanks Corina for a gr8 night. Your service was faultless.
This is definitely the best restaurant in Mackay for beautiful fine dining. Atmosphere and service is excellent. Food is always exactly as promised on the menu, cooked and presented to perfection. Eaten here many times and never had a disappointing or lacking meal.

I have dined here a few times now and I have never been disappointed, the food is always superb.I stayed in the hotel while in town on business and while it is very basic the restaurant makes up for any shortfall.Well worth a visit.
A very enjoyable restaurant for special occasions. A lovely setting and very good service with quality food. A little on the expensive side but well worth a visit
