We used to come here long long ago when there was a dirt parking lot and we remember the place fondly. They were able to put out delicious subs quickly at a reasonable price. Obviously time has changed since the dirt parking lot days. They haveremodeled/rebuilt the building, modernized inside and now nice and bright. They even have a nice covered patio area to enjoyyour sub. The subs are made fresh and still delicious, they literally cut our meat/cheese when we ordered. And that's probablywhy their service is quite slow at times. Their prices are on the high side, but I imagine it's not cheap to operate inNewport. Also, the subs are pretty hearty, we were able to eat just half of the regular...
What can I say about the fantastic and long-established Gallo's Italian Deli, a true staple in CdM! I am absolutely thrilled that they are approaching their one-year anniversary since reopening. The baguette bread is always fresh daily, and the selection of meats—whether hot or cold—as well as the delightful variety of cheeses and fresh condiments, never disappoints. The Gallo's team has consistently delivered exceptional made-to-order sandwiches. They are always friendly and incredibly accommodating, especially Jose, Albert, Linda, and the ever-cheerful Melissa, who serves with a smile!
My wife and I stopped by Gallo's Italian Deli in Corona Del Mar to pick up some bread for dinner last night, only to discover that the bakery was closed. The owner came out to greet us and explained that they were experiencing a mechanical issue. He then kindly offered to assist us without any charge. The service we received was exceptional! He has certainly won our loyalty for many years to come. We truly appreciate his kindness—it was such a wonderful experience! And the bread we picked up was absolutely fantastic.
The sandwiches were delicious. They load the sandwiches up with plenty of meet, cheese , and veggies. A regular whole sandwich was more than enough for me. I can't imaging what a large whole sandwich looks like. The bread was a little on the dry side for me, but the family didn't think so. I would say that this is probably more of a takeout sandwich deli. The is no indoor seating and the outdoor seating is limited.

We stopped by for lunch today. The place is clean and charming. This was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The bread was outstanding. They sliced fresh turkey and cheese for my sandwich. I usually get a bit uneasy about the turkey halfway through, but this was so fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.

Fantastic deli! This is a landmark in Corona Del Mar. The building may have changed, but the sandwiches remain outstanding!
