Terrible service and food. I should have trusted yelp and choose a different afternoon tea place in London. I made a reservation for people at Food- the scones were dry and not warm at all when served. The desserts were cheap ones and did not taste good. (we had strawberry covered with chocolate, fruit tarts, and some thing like royal icing) Even the desserts from the dessert carts were terrible. The waiter did not bring the dessert cart until very end. Reading the brochure and dining at Galvin provide two totally different insights. We had dined here years ago on a trip to London and found it was OK not outstanding, but as we were staying in the hotel we tried it once and were indifferent about the food and service. This week, again staying at the hotel, we gave it another try but were even more disappointed with the service, the pricing and the quality of the fare. I have a soft spot for The Athenaeum, a five-star hotel on Piccadilly. You may well have noticed it because of the astonishing living wall, a festival of greenery on a stone-faced street. I’ve been a few times over the years – most recently to sample an afternoon tea and on a separate occasion to learn how the living wall was created and is maintained as part of the Chelsea Flower Show fringe. Since my last visit, there’s been a major refurbishment on the ground floor – even the entrance has moved. And, catering at The Athenaeum has been passed to Michelin-starred London chefs Chris and Jeff Galvin.

we experienced an unforgettable afternoon tea in a restaurant located near the green park. all waiters were friendly and helpful. they have acted elegantly. I ate the most delicious scenes of all time and I am not sure, but probably they will use ronnefeldt tees. Finally, I was really happy and also my friends. I strongly recommend this place who wants to enjoy a great afternoon.
I've long been a fan of the Galvin bros' flagship Windows restaurant, at the top of the Hilton Park Lane, and have had many wonderful meals there over the years. It's top-end dining at the top of the world, and you pay for it, but if you come away with anything other than a fierce desire to go back and do it all again as soon as possible then you've got a heart of stone.
Was not worth the a head at all. The setting was pretty, atmosphere cozy, our server Mike was the perfect waiter, however the food fell flat. The scones were dry and crunchy, the cakes were average , the sandwiches lacked flavour. I have had better in Australia. What a disappointment.
a small restaurant in athenaeum hotel. very professional staff, but very average eating. had that eating there a few times and the quality of the same dishes was not consistent, what says a lot in itself... can be avoided as there are much better places close.

The staff is really friendly and nice however: the tea is not that good. the couches are not comfortable. the service is really slow. the breakfast is not special and rich! I expected much better for a stars hotel restaurant!
you have to try the coffee here to believe how a real coffee actually tastes. they change the bores, mix and temperature after weather outside and no great guess italian make the coffee here
