On arriving at the restaurant we asked where the bathroom was and the waitress said she didn 't know and that she would ask at reception, closely followed by a second waitress who cheerily told us that they weren 't told where the bathrooms were and they kept moving them round the building. I think this was in the context of the refurbishment but this did make the place sound like Hogwarts. In the lovely setting of Tewkesbury Park Hotel I held my birthday celebration lunch with family and friends. Problems arose upon arrival, with previously arranged requests such as 'nibbles ' prior to the meal, not being adhered to by management. I had gone to considerable lengths to ensure that most requests from guests were catered for on the day, under the guidance of the events ' organizer and each guest had chosen from the 5 limited choices ' menu weeks beforehand. We ate here last night Saturday with friends as we had heard that it was trying hard. Arrival was quite impressive the décor is very good and the staff looked the part. However it all then started to go south. We were asked to take a seat and someone would come with menus. That only took 45 minutes ! Drinks were ok the Butty Bach is well kept if a little cool for my taste. Eventually we got into the restaurant which looked fine and the views over the golf course were impressive. I have visited this restaurant several times while staying at this hotel for work. The food is well-presented and has a high-end feel to it. There is a good variety of starters, meat and fish dishes, and the sticky toffee pudding is delicious. The restaurant has two sections, with the downstairs area feeling a bit dull and old-fashioned, while the upstairs is much nicer. I have always received excellent service from the staff. However, last week I had a negative experience when a large caterpillar crawled out of the small side salad next to my steak. This was very off-putting and we ended up not eating that evening. In December, my family gathered for a meal at this restaurant to exchange gifts and cards. Some members had dined here before, but it was a first for us. Unfortunately, none of us plan to return next year. The disabled parking area was insufficient for a hotel of this size. The service was extremely slow, taking an hour to receive each course. It seemed as though the servers were also cooking the food, despite there being minimal other customers. The prices were high and we didn't feel that the food was worth the cost. Overall, we found the restaurant lacking in ambiance. If we were to dine out next year, we would choose a different venue.
We stayed at the hotel as it was dog friendly. Went for dinner at the restaurant and had seen the negative reviews so were a little worried. Our experience was fantastic, the staff were great and attentive (especially Alberto , the food was very good and the decor fab. Would rate this place highly just based on that but the way they looked after our dog makes this place truly special. He received a full chicken dinner and had most probably the best night of his life. If you travel with your dog this is the best hotel we have stayed in overall (and we have been all round Europe with him!

Service was slow and inattentive, with staff seeming preoccupied. The food was a mix of breakfast items like bacon and croissants, alongside unexpected dishes like prawn cocktail and curry. The dessert table had fruit, marshmallows, and a chocolate fountain. While the set price was reasonable, the lack of traditional breakfast options and high cost made it more suited for lunch.
We visited this restaurant as pert of an overnight stay at The Tewksbury Park Hotel. The restaurant itself was very pleasant with a good atmosphere and views, The dinner was good, the starters and desserts were, however, better than the main courses. A good selection of wines but rather over-priced. Service very friendly and efficient. The breakfast was disappointing; the hot food had stood for too long

We were a group of sixteen dining at this restaurant after a day playing golf. We preordered our meal prior to going out to play and planned to eat around 7pm. From start to finish our meals were superb.....delicious, tasty, well presented and hot, and all evening we were served by extremely friendly and efficient staff. First class.
The restaurant badly needs a real make over it is poorly lit and horrible plastic tablecloths which cover good wooden tables. Afternoon tea and dinner were served in the upper deck and food was excellent. Breakfast was a disaster
