The Monteverde house is a building with a late renaissance façade that was built in the late 17th century. It has always belonged to the Monteverdes, a family of Italian merchants who settled in the 17th century in La Orotava and in other points of the islands such as Las Palmas and La Laguna. They never lost their connection to Italy, and from there they imported the tradition of flower carpets in the mid-19th century. Three women of the Monteverde family designed geometric shapes with wine barrel rings that they filled with flower petals to honour the passage of the Corpus Christi procession. Food was okay croquets fantastic, black rice too salty. But atmosphere was awesome. Hidden away in an historic courtyard with a sweet waiter and an even sweeter cat. For all cat lovers: Their old cat died, so they build its urn a little shrine with a plaque. How can there people not be fantastic? From here you can easily (well uphill as anywhere in La Orotova) walk to the Gardens. If you are lucky and arrive in the afternoon and are fearless you can park right in front on the steep road.
What a wonderfully beautiful place for a lovely meal. The surroundings of the dining room, the decor and ambience were stunning and the food very good, delicious and tasty. The portions were not massively huge but with 3 courses it was sure plenty. We would definetely visit again if were were in the area. The whole meal felt very special and the waiting staff were very attentive. Their was a court yard bar/dining area to which was very nice. The toilets were spotless.
He visitado muchos pubs y restaurantes durante nuestra estancia de una semana en Tenerife y tengo una buena comparación. Pero aquí todo está realmente bien. A menos que tengas mucha hambre, no saldrás completamente lleno de este hermoso ambiente.

Iba dando un paseíto por La Orotava y descubrí sitio de casualidad. Vi que tenían una terraza preciosa en la que sentarse a disfrutar del silencio y del aire y tomarte algo fresquito. Atención excelente en un sitio algo escondido.
realmente tranquilo y agradable una residencia magnífica una comida muy buena. Comí un salmón a la mostaza muy bien cocido.

Visita obligatoria para conocer la cultura canaria y una leyenda lagunera.
